5 Pet Friendly Hotel Chains With No Fees

See recent posts by Amanda Norcross

Family vacations are expensive enough, so why should you have to pay extra to bring everyone on the trip? While many hotels charge a nightly fee for pets, others welcome your furry family members at no extra cost (and some even offer complimentary amenities and services just for pets!). These are the best pet friendly hotel chains with no fees.

Note: While these pet friendly hotel chains don’t charge extra fees, it’s always a good idea to call your hotel and review their pet policy in advance of your stay.

1. Kimpton Hotels

When we think pets, we think Kimpton. All of the brand’s hotels welcome pets—regardless of size, weight or breed—at no additional cost. This means your rabbit, parrot and hamster can finally join you on a family excursion. Standard amenities include bowls, beds, toys and treats, but most locations offer even more.

Recommended Kimpton Hotel: At the EPIC Hotel in Miami, pet guests receive a choice of two of the following services: a “Pawdicure and Shampoo” treatment; one hour of daily play time; one hour of dog walking at Flamingo Bark Park; or a massage for two humans.

2. Graduate Hotels

Not only do Graduate Hotels waive extra fees for pets, but dogs also receive a BarkBox upon arrival! Food and water bowls, as well as blankets, are also available upon request.

Recommended Graduate Hotel: Formerly the Inn at USC, the newly opened Graduate Columbia happily welcomes pets. On Sept. 12, 2019, it will host The Dogist, a canine Instagram influencer, for an adoption event in partnership with Pets, Inc. The event is open to the public and attendees are invited to bring their own dogs for photos and playtime.

3. Aloft Hotels

At Aloft Hotels, pets weighing up to 40 pounds stay free! Dogs are given complimentary bowls, treats, beds and toys to enjoy during their stay.

Recommended Aloft Hotel: The Aloft Lexington, just 20 minutes from Boston, allows up to two pets per room at no additional cost. Pet-friendly rooms are located on the hotel’s first and second floors.

4. Motel 6

Motel 6 is especially convenient for family road trips—book an overnight stay without the worry of added fees for Fido! Up to two service animals and/or well-behaved pets are allowed per guestroom, but note that some states and local municipalities may have restrictions. Bonus: Kids stay free, too!

Recommended Motel 6: The Motel 6 Beatty/Death Valley is convenient to Death Valley National Park, California, and is your typical, no-frills Motel 6, with updated guestrooms and $5 Wi-Fi. Guestrooms feature one king or two queen beds, with plenty of space for Spot.

5. Red Roof Inn

One pet per guestroom, weighing up to 80 pounds, is welcome at Red Roof Inn. Like Motel 6, Red Roof Inn offers modern accommodations at budget-friendly rates. Kids and pets stay free.

Recommended Red Roof Inn: The Red Roof Inn Virginia Beach offers an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi, and nearby Virginia Beach welcomes pets!
