Although winter breaks ended just a few weeks ago, it's never too early (or too late) to start planning your next family trip. With plenty of last-minute-winter-getaway hotel deals and a holiday weekend on the horizon, don't miss an inexpensive chance to get away for a few days, and of course, pay tribute to our founding fathers.

1. Rocking Horse Ranch
When it comes to all-inclusive family fun, Rocking Horse Ranch, never disappoints. Located in Highland, New York about an hour north of New York City, the resort is offering a School Break Package February 15 through 23. Rates start at $239 per adult, per night, and $89 per child, per night. Package includes accommodations, meals and access to the Big Splash Indoor Water Park, where it's always a perfect 85 degrees. East coasters -- this is the perfect way to escape this winter's unseasonably frigid temperatures!

2. Hilton Garden Inn Washington D.C.
There's no better place to celebrate President's Day than Washington D.C.! At the Hilton Garden Inn Washington D.C./US Capital, your family will enjoy 15 percent off rates during President's Day weekend (and all weekend stays through December 31, 2013), with rates starting as low as $125 (with an advance purchase). Visit the Newseum National Air & Space Museum (free admission) and United States Capitol.

3. Holiday Inn Philadelphia - Historic District
Philadelphia, home of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, is another good spot to spend President's Day weekend. And with rates starting at $135 per night at Holiday Inn Philadelphia - Historic District, centrally located near Philly's best sites, it's a tough trip to pass up!

4. Great Wolf Lodge
Nearly all of Great Wolf Lodge's locations, including Wisconsin Dells, the Poconos and Williamsburg, are offering a Family Dinner Package. Package includes one entree and beverage per guest at the main dining area per night, and water park passes. Rates vary upon resort locations.

5. West Inn & Suites
Surprise the kids with a weekend in LEGOLAND California! At the highly-rated West Inn & Suites, you'll enjoy 50 percent off your third night when you stay three consecutive nights. Rates start at $179 per night, and guests enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet daily, a heated outdoor pool and complimentary shuttle within Carlsbad.

6. Kalahari Resorts
We haven't quite reached summer (though we hope to very, very soon), but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy some water park fun! At Kalahari Resorts, you'll have your pick at several deals. We especially like the Warm Winter Savings promotion at Kalahari's Sandusky location. Starting at $200 per night, the package includes accommodations, breakfast for two adults and two children, four Safari Park Animal Adventure Passes and admission to the water park, of course!

7. Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand Hotel
Galveston Island made our list of 10 Best Vacation Bets for 2013, and with Hotel Galvez and Spa offering 30 percent off three night stays, now is a prime time to visit! President's Day weekend rates start at $154 per night. Additionally, Hotel Galvez and other participating Wyndham resorts are offering a fourth night free with a minimum stay of three nights.
