Grandma’s Saloon

522 S. Lake Ave., Duluth, 55802, MN

Duluth’s most famous restaurant — and namesake for the famed Grandma’s Marathon that runs up the North Shore — could keep an I-Spy-playing family busy for hours. It’s known for its Italian-inspired food, wild rice entrees and the eyeful of eclectic antiques and collectibles that march up the walls and across the ceilings with everything from stained glass and funny advertisements to wildlife trophies. It’s also known for burgers, walleye sandwiches and onion rings.

The kids’ menu includes a mini portion of the spaghetti and marinara that’s been served to marathoners for decades. You may have to wait to get in, but summer visitors can dine on the outside deck or rooftop lounge overlooking the Aerial Life Bridge.
