Filthy conditions and poor service !

by M4491WRmaryh

I am here with my family for a one week all inclusive vacation and very disappointed that I wasted my hard earned money????. From our arrival to now, not even a smile from the staff, except for Rafael at the bar, who is a gem and clearly knows how to make guests feel welcomed.
After more than one hour waiting for our room, we finally entered to find animal faeces by the pool. It was difficult to tell whether the bath was clean since the tiles were black. The whole decor is darkened by poor lighting, cannot even see yourself in a mirror!
Front desk offers beach towels which are really torn and ragged bath towels which no hotel with any standard should be offering to guests.
Seems that in general, this resort does not maintain pools or their residences to a basic standard. The main pool by the bar appears run down, with worn out beach chairs.
Hair that was on the floor from the start of our stay remained even after the cleaner’s visit.
General demeanour of the staff is that you are a bother.
I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Families who have saved up there pennies for a stay in the Caribbean, please visit the Dominican Republic which in my opinion is filled with friendly people who are proud of what their country has to offer. Sadly, this is not the case here at Acoya. If you must visit Curaçao, Papagayo Beach Hotel or the Livingston Jan Theil are far better hotels to stay at. We leave Acoya everyday and visit other places on the island which all appear to be able to meet our expectations. The beaches are beautiful and helps us to unwind and escape from the grim reality of the Acoya experience.

Horrible Experience - Gross Hotel!!!!

by AmarisTravels

I booked an all inclusive two bedroom villa with a private pool for my family’s first time visit to Curacao. Upon arrival we waited a little over an hour to be shown to our room- we were informed it was being cleaned. Imagine our surprise when we walked out to our pool and it was littered with animal feces!! It was brought to the front desks attention immediately on Sun Aug 18th at 4pm, after several
complaints it was not cleaned until Tues 20th at 9pm.

Arriving back to our villa on Tuesday evening there was more animal defecation around the pool. We informed a staff member and he stated- “There is nothing wrong with the pool, it is chlorinated you can use it.” What disgusting, unsanitary standards for a hotel claiming to be 4- star online. Forget going above and beyond to impress guests - this hotel cannot maintain a basic standard service which is CLEANLINESS!!!

We are not unreasonable people- we understand that outdoor elements such as animals may be unpredictable. But we assumed it would be basic standard of a “luxury” hotel to have maintenance staff clean our pool every day. SO DISGUSTING!!!

During our stay we were appalled for the disregard for basic hospitality standards- we were given old, torn towels, stained linen, and the villas are never properly cleaned. Seems the staff literally comes in and makes the bed and thinks that is cleaning!! Ew!

Apart from being unclean, the hotel offered an all inclusive service which they clearly cannot uphold. Their idea of all inclusive is bringing in 2 water bottles and 2 beers into the fridge every day. The on site restaurants offer no diversity and you are stuck eating from a bland menu all week. Another waste of money!!!

I will be leaving on Sunday Aug 25th - and I will write a final review (with pictures) of this nightmare experience! We have thoroughly documented this experience because we do not want another family
to be tricked into coming here. Sooooo completely disappointed that we wasted our money to come here.
