Very unhappy with service, charges, and communication

by Maya L

I reserved 7 rooms for a birthday weekend and first off, all the reservations were listed under the same name Ms. Benjamin, which makes no sense. Trying to get someone on the phone who could go through each reservation # and add the correct names of the guests was impossible so I had to physically go into the hotel to fix the issue.. They couldn't change the name but they were able to add the correct names to the notes. I wanted early check-in and despite spending nearly $3000 on reservations they wanted to charge me additionally for not guaranteed early check in. They charged me $100 + tax also for late check out. Then the reservations didn't have the correct number of beds I requested, so in order to get the double beds I had originally wanted, I had to pay an additional $40 again. A smart water at this hotel is $10.. they give you a $10 credit per day to make up for this. Every movie in the entertainment system is $20. There is no free breakfast, you have to purchase a tasteless omelette at their Rare grill which sports a B rating.. All of that front desk were very unpleasant and rude- the managers have better attitudes. Overall I was very unhappy with how my reservations were made, the lack of accountability, and the poor hospitality. The rooms are OK- the ones near the elevator are quite noisy.

Great location

We were in the city for a birthday celebration and needed a hotel for 4 adults. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to Grand Central Station and because they offer 2 queens in a room (most NYC hotels do not, or not that I could find).

Our visit was quick, but, the room was perfect. The bathroom was large, two queen beds as promised, a fridge, and it was a spacious room. The elevators though were very small, but, that’s ok - you sometimes had to wait a bit.

I would stay here again.
