Each of their rustic log cabins has two bedrooms, with queen and twin beds, full bathroom and picture windows that look out on the forest or water. The Lodge only takes in 12 guests at a time, so you won’t feel crowded during meal time or daily activities. All of the gourmet meals and snacks are served family-style in the main lodge, and are included in the price of your stay. Other amenities include satellite TV, Wi-Fi, kayaks and boot dryers.

The gorgeous lodge and its three guest cabins are located in a remote part of Afognak Island to the northwest of Kodiak. It’s reachable by a 20-minute float plane ride from the Kodiak airport. Afognak Island is known for its old growth forest and abundance of wildlife. Most of your day will be taken up with guided fishing trips, hikes through the forest to see brown bears, or photography expeditions to some even more secluded corner of the island. You can arrange your schedule with the Lodge ahead of time. Majestic place, 100% natural from the hospitality to the food quality. The chef and his crew are very professional and food was delicious. The fishing crew, Dave and Jordan were very easy going and helpful to our group. This place is great , because of the leadership of Shannon Randal and Family, I recommend this place 100%.

Great Group Fishing Trip

by Clay P

There is a group of us from South Texas that going fishing every year. We have fished in Glacier Bay before but never off of Kodiak. This was an outstanding trip. We had the two best fishing guides we have ever had (Dave R. and Jordan). From the food on the boat to Daves music mix and poetry we had a blast. The fishing was amazing, we were a little light on the Halibut but it is early season and all the other fish more than compensated. I get seasick but they're catamaran style boats took a lot of the rock and roll out of the trip.

The accommodations and stillness of the Island made for some of the best nights of sleep I've ever had. We would sleep for 10-11 hours at a crack without noticing. The food in the dinning hall was fresh and expertly prepared.

I could go on but needless to say we will be returning to this little slice of heaven in the future.
