We were on vacation with another family, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. While there was plenty to participate in, we just enjoyed being at the beach every day and having it so accessible. Having the cabana bar and pools practically right more +out our door was wonderful! Anything we needed was pretty much within walking distance. Loved the pools and Jacuzzis. And the people were all so nice. We would definitely go back!

When scouting out this vacation spot for our family via the internet, the rooms looked magnificent, the grounds looked luscious and it had two pools plus a hot tub and grilling area. The sand was steps away from our beachfront terrace. We were excited more +and thrilled for our venture and thought it would be perfect.

When first arriving at the hotel, the sign was less glamorous then pictured and the lobby was not very inviting at all, but who had to spend time there, we were just excited to get into our room. There were five of us, Mom, Dad, and our three girls (ages 9,18,and 22)We opened our hotel door in anticipation only to be smacked in the face with a stench less than inviting. We opened our slider doors to smell the fresh breeze off the ocean. The view was beautiful,we can't say the same for our room. The rooms were run down, our toilet was broken, the Air Conditioner only worked 1/2 the time, and the sofa bed was old and the springs dug into your skin leaving marks. Needless to say we had to not use the sofa bed and had to strip one of the mattresses off the beds and put it on the living room floor. Our 9 year old ended up sleeping on the boxspring.

The hotel did not have a restaurant so we had to either walk or travel to find food. The rooms were equipped with kitchenettes and we did some shopping at the local market which helped on cutting costs a bit. For night time entertainment you would need to stroll the beach to the neighboring hotels to find it. The Alden did not have any live entertainment and the Cabana Bar shut down at early hours. Unfortunately, although our room was beachfront and next to the pool as well, the paper thin walls allowed for non stop noise and the late night partiers congregated by the pool. Getting a good night sleep was very tough!

So besides a beautiful location on the beach, I would not re-visit this resort unless the rooms were upgraded and more attention was given to accommodating their guests. They have a beautiful property and could be outstanding if they wanted to be.
