Historic, good service & price

by Hockeybo

All good as in tittle and room had a great view and seemed to have been recently redone, BUT the walls are too thin and we could hear the guy next door snoring and then his family talking. I know these old hotel may not been well sound proofed but still frustrating. Nice public area that has board games. Overall nice historic hotel with very good service. Restaurant was good as was their staff. What’s up with a dog in lobby? Heard him growl and snap and someone not everyone likes dogs.

Not bad, not great

We wanted to stay at a grand resort hotel and included this on our Maritime tour. The drive up and walk around the grounds reminds one of the grandeur that these places once commanded and the locale was charming and quaint.
The room was upgraded but it was at the end of a long hall and seemed the room hadn’t been used in a while as there were lots of dead flies by the windows. The pillows also had an odour to them and we asked to have them replaced. Not sure if they were changed or if just put back on the bed as the “new” ones had a similar scent. Ended up leaving them on the couch.
A beautiful setting and nice village, but next time might take a pass on the “upgrade”!
