My family has been going to Disneyland several times a year for more than a dozen years. For most of those visits, we've stayed at the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites.
Located just a few steps away from the crosswalk on Harbor
more +Boulevard from the entrance to Disneyland, it's almost impossible to be any closer to the main gates of Disneyland without being an 'onsite' property. From our hotel windows, we can usually see the Matterhorn or Space Mountain, and when we open the door in the morning, we're greeted with a view of the Tower of Terror and Grizzly Peak. On nights when there's fireworks, the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites had a viewing deck for the fireworks at Disneyland, and we've also seen fireworks from the Anaheim Angels' stadium, which is also nearby.
The Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites offers a selection of hotel accommodations, for parties of four to ten! There are basic hotel rooms with two queen (not double) beds, suites that have a separate sitting room with sofabed, and then connecting rooms to accommodate larger parties. In addition, the Desert Inn and Suites provides coffeemakers, microwaves, mini refrigerators, irons and ironing boards in the rooms, making it very comfortable for travelers who want to have some food conveniently in their rooms. Some rooms have jacuzzi tubs, which can sure help soothe sore bodies after a long day storming the parks at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure!
The hotel has undergone several renovations in the years we've been going there, and I especially like the new shutters at the front windows. We've always found the beds to be nice and comfortable. There's free parking for one vehicle per room, so you don't have to deal with any shuttles. There's an indoor pool and hot tub, which are always popular, and a great bonus if you visit during the winter when it's colder and rainy. The hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast in the mornings, nothing too fancy, but a nice start to your day.
With very affordable rates, choice in floor plans and nice amenities, and location location location, the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites is one Disneyland Resort hotel we're happy to call our home away from home.
