Attraction

Anna Maria Island Historical Museum

402 Pine Ave., Anna Maria, FL

Fittingly tiny for a small taste of island history, this former-life icehouse, circa 1920, is stuffed with photos, maps, records, books, a new beaches lifestyle exhibit, a seashell collection, and other nicely arranged memorabilia. The kids’ favorite part of the complex will be the old windowless, roofless jail decorated with funny graffiti — a great Instagram opp. Another historic cottage, Belle Haven, is furnished with 1920s period pieces and occupies a lovely garden.

Hours
January-March 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday; April-December 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday. Closed September.
