More than a mile and half long, Chesterman Beach is the most popular beach in Tofino. It is very wide during low tide and is lined with residential homes. Families can take a surf lesson here from one of the many surf schools in town, go kayaking, fly a kite or have a beach fire during the breathtaking sunsets.

Things to Know/Bring: The Pacific Ocean never gets very warm and stays around 50 degrees in Tofino through most of the summer months. Make sure to bring a head-to-toe wet suit if your family plans to surf. Dogs are welcome on the beach.

Parking:Two parking lot areas are available here and the larger lot offers restrooms, changing areas and rinse off areas. Street parking is also available.
