Copenhagen

Attraction

The Danes are often lauded as the “happiest people in the world,” and the country consistently gets high marks on global rankings for its education system and the wellbeing of its children from organizations like UNICEF. In short, this is one healthy and contented country to be either a kid or a parent, and you’re likely to feel all those good vibes, yourself, during a trip to the beautiful capital, Copenhagen. The city’s flat terrain makes it one of the most bicycle-friendly towns in Europe (look for moms pedaling with two babies in front and back bike seats!), and Copenhagen is just as appealing on foot with your entourage, too.

Children are universally welcomed in the city’s trendy cafes and restaurants and the excellent public transport system makes it easy to spend your days sightseeing via the excellent train, boat and bus connections that crisscross the city. And how’s this for fabulous? Up to two children under the age of 12 can travel for free on all public transportation with paying adults! If any European city makes family travel a cinch, it’s got to be Copenhagen. Also consider buying the Copenhagen Card during your visit for free public transport rides, free admission to more than 70 attractions and museums, restaurant discounts and more.
