EarlyWorks Children’s History Museum

404 Madison Street, Huntsville, 35801, AL

As with most children’s museums, EarlyWorks is primarily geared toward children 12 and younger. The museum is divided into several different learning areas, such as the Kidstruction Zone where kids can build with giant Tinker Toys, the federal house where kids can dress up in 1800’s period clothing and the Talking Tree, which shares a story with young listeners.

Especially for kids 6 and younger, Biscuit’s Backyard is a touch-and-learn area that includes a barbershop, grocery story, post office, barnyard, fishing hole and crawler corner. Note that due to the size of this area, the number of occupants may be limited as well as the time allowed in the area. Therefore, when your scheduled time comes up, make sure you head straight over so you don’t miss any of your session. Also, some weekdays can be busy with field trips and weekends can be crowded due to birthday parties. Call first to check the museum’s schedule to ensure your children will have adequate time to enjoy all of the offerings.
