Located in Roger Williams Park, just minutes from the zoo, the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium is home to a variety of exhibits, including historical artifacts and displays that teach guests about astronomy. Children can pick up one of the many scavenger hunt guides offered at the entrance of the museum for more fun while exploring the various areas. The Planetarium is located on the second floor of the museum, and public shows are offered year-round on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. During July and August, shows are offered Monday through Friday at 2 p.m., as well. The museum and planetarium also host a variety of special events and activities throughout the year, such as guided walks through the park, a butterfly exhibit and arts and crafts.

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. year-round, except for the first Monday of the month, October through March. Admission is inexpensive and children ages 3 and under are free. The museum is closed on most major holidays.
