About Bahama Bay Resort Orlando
Bahama Bay is a great resort for families who want to stay near Disney World -- it's only a 15-minute drive away. Villas have two or three bedrooms, full kitchens and multiple bathrooms to accommodate almost any family. Tradewinds Restaurant, a family-style eatery, overlooks Lake Davenport. Mambo's Bar and Grill offers an outdoor atmosphere. For fun, there are a handful of pools on the property. Kids enjoy a bevy of water-related amenities, including wading pools and waterslides. A kids' club plans daily, supervised activities involving video games in the game room and pool time.

There are few rites of passage as exciting as taking a child on his or her first camping trip. Families bond while roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, making shadow animals on the tent wall, chasing after fireflies and inhaling fragrant whiffs of pine. On a recent ski vacation, my family of five traveled with five cellphones, three laptops, three iPads, two iPods and just for good measure, a GPS! Given the prevalence of electronic devices in our daily lives and our somewhat compulsive reliance upon them, taking a true vacation feels almost imposs...
The 1969 film, "If It's Tuesday, This Must be Belgium," depicted a funny, but sometimes all too true, look at a tour group of Americans traveling through Europe so quickly they barely knew where they were and what they were seeing.

All-inclusive resorts can be a lifesaver to families traveling.
