Stayed at Bahia Mar for 6 days with the family. Reserved through Expedia. Great location for what we wanted to do - sun, fun, relaxation. About 15 minutes from the airport. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Felt safe and always saw more +security patrolling the grounds. Pool area accessible by hotel card only. The hotel is not directly on the beach but across Seabreeze Blvd like many other hotels along the strip. A private walkway over to the blvd brings you directly to the beach. Beach has lifeguards. Overall, beach was great for the kids. A little farther to the right is a big kid's play structure which was perfect in the early evening and helped them burn some energy. The best was at low tide which was usually in the morning. Sand is soft and hard to walk on so strollers and long walks by the beach is not really possible. A boardwalk was made in order to do so.

Many restaurants along Seabreeze Blvd within short walks. At the hotel itself, the are 3 areas to get food. One is the Seabreeze restaurant in the tower. Good food, good staff. Not many choices for kids so if you have a super picky one... this would not do. Attached to the hotel is a store/deli called All About Food. Amazing choices to fried food to paninis, to salads, to fruit, to muffins and coffee, to ice cream, to drinks including alcoholic ones, etc. There is a pool bar / grill by the pool. We mainly ate lunch there and great choices for everyone. Great choices in drinks for mom and dad as well. Staff at pool bar are just great. All restaurants were overpriced, but that's what it is in a touristy area.

We had the oceanfront balcony - it's a small one to stand on only. In re: to room service, our room was usually made-up in the afternoon. This seems to insult people but my family is quite easy-going and if I don't have to make beds, food and clean dishes... I am very happy. We were in room 602 and quite liked it. Room itself was modern and quite spacey for a family of four. Many people complain about the bathtub which is peeling (at some point, the tubs were painted?)and those probably need to be updated but other than that, no mold! (This was an issue in a New York hotel...) I actually hated the beds because they are soft but that goes with personal taste. Never heard the neighbors. Weekends are busy at the beach and pool but you always find space. Throughout the week is much quieter. What I enjoyed is that you can see cruise ships leave the port as it's close to the hotel.

Be careful when crossing the street. Many crosswalks (with no lights) but drivers don't respect them and speed through. Don't assume that they'll stop - Almost witnessed someone get hit, it was a close call. Nighttime is worse.. You may frequently hear sirens as a fire station is close by but with the patio door closed and the air conditioning on, you don't hear it at night. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and the kids have some fond memories of our time together and that's what makes it a great trip!
