Baltimore Family Vacations
Baltimore Family Vacations

Families will love:
- Harbor lined with museums, historic ships and an aquarium
- Fort McHenry, which inspired the writing of the "Star Spangled Banner"
- Pirate ship and water taxi rides
Baltimore has a storied place in our nation's history: It was during the War of 1812 where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the "Star Spangled Banner" while witnessing our flag remain standing during heavy bombardment. Baltimore is also the home of "The Raven" author, Edgar Allan Poe, as well as its namesake football team and the Orioles that play in one of the country's most beloved baseball parks, Camden Yards (even if it is relatively new). A city built on a harbor, it's a popular cruise destination, as well as a stop for seafood lovers angling to get their hands on Baltimore crab cakes (delicious!). Located under an hour away from Washington, D.C., it is also a perfect side trip from a historic visit to our nation's capital (in fact, a quick and inexpensive train ride is all that separates the two). For children, Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a fantastic playground complete with historic ships, hands-on museums, on-the-water fun and family-friendly dining and shopping districts.
