Baltimore Family Friendly Restaurants
601 East Pratt StreetBaltimore, MD 410-347-ROCK
It's hard to miss the Hard Rock in the Inner Harbor with it's larger-than-life guitar rising into the sky and serving as a rock 'n' roll beacon. I'm not big on dining at chain restaurants when exploring a new city but my music-loving son persisted and after giving in, I was surprised by how much this iconic restaurant remains exciting to newcomers. Although it has been more than a decade since my last visit, the kids loved the memorabilia and music videos, and the kids' menu dubbed as a multi-page activity book that kept them entertained until lunch was served.

Although the attractions lining the Inner Harbor are surrounded by family-friendly chain restaurants, leave behind the brick and stone pathways for East Pratt Street and one of the city's signature breakfast and lunch spots. Serving Southern-style cuisine with "a Baltimore twist," no one in the family should miss the Funky Monkey Bread!
1727 East Pratt StreetBaltimore, MD 410-732-6399
The world-famous crab house is a must-visit while touring Baltimore for all things seafood and Baltimore's renowned and decadent blue crabs.
402 Key HighwayBaltimore, MD 410-727-3678
Located on the harbor with fantastic water views is the Rusty Scupper, which serves up Chesapeake Bay cuisine. Located next to the Science Center, it's an easy walk from most hotels, but it also provides complimentary shuttle service to and from a number of area hotels. A children's menu is available.
110 Water StreetBaltimore, MD 410-986-4445
Just steps away from the Inner Harbor on an intimate cobblestone street is what the locals call the "Big V." The Italian restaurant has been serving to the likes of Baltimore's most famous, as well as Rat Packers Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, since 1937. Kids and parents can nosh on seafood and classic Italian dishes, as well as thin, foldable pizza. And if staying at one of the Inner Harbor hotels, you'll be happy to discover the Big V delivers -- just what we needed after a long day running around the harbor.
