Back To The Beach!!!

I traveled to the Barcelo Colonial Riviera Maya last June with my husband and two daughters. This was the first time we stayed at a Barcelo resort. We usually stay at RIU or Iberostar all inclusive resorts. The grounds were beautiful and pools were more +great, especially the kids water park. The room was comfortable and clean. The beach was perfect and very accessible. The food was good but as to be expected it gets very old by the end of the week. We went to Playa Del Carmen a couple of times to eat which was fun. The main difference I noticed between the Barcelo and the other resorts was the staff. They were not as friendly, helpful or fun. It seemed to take forever to get drinks and we always tipped well. The staff was just missing that welcoming smile we are used to. The entertainment staff was also not as fun. Overall we had a fabulous family vacation, I would just recommend other all inclusive resorts over this one. I see us returning to a RIU or Iberostar next time we venture Back to the Beach!!
