My trip started off on the wrong foot at the airport when the Beaches rep greated us. It was almost like we were putting her out. the 2 hour ride to the hotel was ok, the driver explained all about the culture and spots to visit. Oliver, with Juta
more +tours was great!!! He was very friendly and willing to help in any way.
We arrived at the hotel, room was not bad.... but we couldn't get our key card to work, 8 days and 14 keys. Most of the staff was unhappy. I'm not sure who the wait staff was when everyone else was there.... but the staff they have now doesn't smile. Dwight and Aaron are the bartenders and the pool bar... they were great!!! however take note, the pool closes at 6pm, so drink fast.
there is no entertainment except kids singing and a staff talent show after 6pm. oh wait... they have a steel drum band that plays at 9:30 at a bar that noone attends... I was the only person there. The beach is a joke. the sand is not white and pretty. You can't swim in the water because they have it roped off to waist deep and if you go in the water, you are attacked by salesmen trying to sell you stuff. Relaxing on the beach, taking in the sun... no cause you have to listen to the men fighting over who has the right to sell thier junk to the guests. You can't walk on the beach because its blocked off by the resort. Pictures look really nice, however photo shop was used on them. the beach is less then a football field in length. There is always a lounge chair available to use, so you don't need to rush. But I'll bet you will be spending your time by the pool.
Note to oneself, use the bathroom before you come to the pool. The bathroom at poolside was aweful!!! the floors were flooded, bugs, not a place that belongs at a family resort. The food itself wasn't bad..... when there was food to get. They don't hurry to fill the buffet. I hope you enjoy this hotel more than I did... have a great vacation.

Me and My two daughters ages 6 & 8 vacationed at Beaches Boscobel Resort for 4 days. This was my childrens first time to Jamaica, and they loved it. They loved the pool and the children's slide. From the time we entered the hotel on the first
more +day until 6:00 pm my children stayed in the pool. They enjoyed the night entertainment. The room was awsome. My girls went to kids camp on the second day we were there and when it was time for kids kamp to close they didn't want to leave. The next day they woke up @ 06:30 am wanting to go back to kids kamp. I don't know what the kamp employees do, but the were excellent,my kids loved them. After they experienced the kids Kamp they didn't want to stay with me any longer they wanted to be there. They met people from all over.
This resort was the best. The day we left and was on the plane my oldest daughter said,"mommy stop the plane i want to get off and go back i love this place, if i get 90's all school year can we come back for 14 days". LOL i said yeah, she promised, so this will be our vacation spot for awhile. no more Disney. I highly recommend this resort for a family vacation drop the kids off @ 9:00am at Kids Kamp and drag them out @ 9:00pm, because they don't want to leave.

My wife, I and our two boys (15 & 20) spent a week down at the Beaches Resort in Boscobel , Jamaica. The resort is two hours from the airport in Montego Bay, but the drive over allows you to take in the scenery along the coast line and the culture
more +in Jamaica. From the minute we stepped onto the resort, the service was outstanding. The people are always smiling, happy, and have a great disposition. I know part of this may be their job, but you can smile that much and not have a positive attitude, and that rubs off on all those that stay there also, it's hard not to be in a great mood in such a wonderful atmosphere. Our rooms were in the main building, and they were clean and very comfortable with plenty of room and a view of the ocean. The room had one bedroom area, a sitting area, full bath, and a balcony. Our boys were initially put in a room with a single bed, but with a single phone call to the front desk by the bellman (at 11pm) they were immediately moved into a 2 bed room with no hassle or charge.
The resort grounds were laid out nicely, with lots of trees and flowers. One will find the tennis, basketball, lawn chess, and shuffleboard all together, and a nicely equipped fitness center across the resort. There are 5 restaurants on the resort spread across the grounds. Each one has its own speciality - Italian, Jamaican, BBQ(Jerk available), Surf & Turf, and the main buffet style eatery in the center of all the action. The food at the three sit down restaurants was very good, what you would expect of a nice restaurant. The main buffet had a great variety of food and was open the most hours, they had a different dinner theme each night and the food was good. This provided a way to sample a great variety of the foods. The BBQ place was only open the prime hours of the day, but is a must stop for the incredible Jerk chicken and Jerk burgers!!!!
Night life was pleasant, entertaining, and not overly loud or intrusive if you just wanted to chill. Most activities took place at the main pool stage, with dancers, contest, local artist, and other entertainers. There was also a piano bar and another bar that had local bands - usually steel drum - really relaxing.
We met so many great people both guest on their vacations and the staff (we made great friends with our bartenders and waiters, who knew our names after our first meeting). Every event, dinner, night outside you would strike up conversations with people just relaxing in this great atmosphere.
I was concerned there would be enough to keep two active boys entertained, but between the pool activities, the sports, the tours, the snorkel, kayak, and other beach activities, we could have been there several more days and never got bored.
There are so few places that leave such a positive impression that you know you will return soon, this was one. We are already making plans to return and bring friends and family next time.

We stayed in Boscobel with our 2 children in the beginning of 2010.
It was an absolutely breathe taking experience. You could be very relaxed and have no cares in the world.
The kids were taken care of by exceptional
more +staff members.
The parents were taken care of too by the luxurious spa.
The on site nanny service was outstanding they were definitely focused on the children so the adults could go an enjoy themselves and not worry.
The resort was clean and well maintained. They have many activities that are exclusive to the children like the Xbox room, cooking with the Elmo and a sesame street character breakfast. Along with nightly stage entertainment that the staff members interact the children.
If you are looking for a carefree and relaxation trip, then Beaches Boscobel is definitely by far the best family resort I have been too and would highly recommend it.

Hi we are a family of three! I have a little boy who is 2.5 years old and a bundle of pure energy! We stayed at a resort Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club, Ocho Rios. Boscobel is one of the lower-end Beaches properties, but still wonderful. You
more +cannot beat it if you have small kids. We all got a thrill out of drinking and eating all day and not paying a bill, lol.
The food was fabulous, everywhere, every time. no complaints from all of us including my picky son. Yes, the room furnishings and corridors are a little run-down but they try hard to keep them clean. Can you imagine how hard it is to keep everything sparkling when about 75% of the clientele are small children? All the employees are very sweet and accommodating, everything was always no problem, mon. My mom paid about $120.00 per night for 6 nights. With all the amenities, food drinks, ect included, you can't beat that! .
So like I said, if you are budget conscious and have realistic expectations, then this resort is perfect. Thanks to the Beaches staff for making my experience amazing and family happy. Yah, mon!!

My husband and I wanted a relaxing getaway with our 3 young children and saw advertisement for Beaches, so we decided to go to Beaches Boscobel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. This vacation met and far exceeded our expectations. It was a great combination
more +of relaxation while the kids were entertained, as well as superior family fun.
The kids programs were excellent and our children loved going to the program. There was a daily schedule posted and every 30 minutes was a different activity. Our children would choose the activities they wanted to participate in and stay at the kids camp for several hours a day, while my husband and I were able to enjoy beach activities, massage, or tanning by the pool. We felt comfortable with the workers at the kids camp as they were so caring and loving towards the children. I would watch the workers with the children around the property and they were great with all of the kids. Our children participated in activities such as ty-dyeing t-shirts, making pizzas, music with Bert & Ernie, baking cookies, reggae dance lessons, birthday party bash with music, cake & prizes; they went to pool and beach with the kids program; and many other activities.
There was a variety of foods to choose at all meals and each night was different. There were other restaurants at the resort in which we tried, everything was wonderful.
During the day, there were activities at the pool such as games to play, scavenger hunts, activities for kids, water aerobics, etc. Other activities around the resort were tennis, tennis lessons, scuba lessons, spa treatments, workout center, golf, and many more to name. Our kids favorite activities included eating popcorn, snow cones, and ice cream each day and the water slides. There were 8 slides of various sizes and my 3 year old even had a blast on these.
Our room was nice and spacious and overlooked the pool, and was very clean. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking. One of the best things about this vacation was the all-inclusiveness - even the food & drinks. We felt as if it was free; it was nice not having to carry money around. The only thing we paid for upon departure was souvenirs, massage & photos. And I must add that I was very pleased with our family photos on the beach. They were a little pricey, but were great quality.
It was such a family oriented place, but also a relaxing place. I would highly recommend this resort to families and plan to go back again.

Stayed 10 nights at Beaches Boscobel in Jamaica. A ton of stuff to do there for all ages. They have coordinators for kids of all ages and there is always things happening to keep everyone busy. The waterslides are just awesome, from baby slides to a
more +vertical drop big slide that was a lot of fun. Didn't seem to matter which of the 5 restaurants we ate at, the food was always fresh and great tasting. The service was always great as well. Jamaican people are so very nice and willing to do whatever it takes to make your holiday the best possible. This resort is set up so very well and there is easy access to everything from the beach to the spa and especially the pool bar. Great time had by all in our family.
Bayside, the buffet, was always good and they had a different theme each night. Breakfast was always good. I've never ate so much each morning for breakfast. Venetian, BBQ Pit, Arizona and Elanors all had great food every time we ate there!
