Terrible

by Jessicaann4387

Absolutely rude customer service! We were eating lunch at the restaurant below the motel, when water was thrown by the maid over the balcony onto our food and all over our drinks! When we approached the manager he said “oh, so half of your lunch got ruined? What do you want me to do, give you 10$? It’s just clean refrigerator water, no big deal!” Absolutely disregarded the fact that we just had dirty refrigerator water thrown all over us and our food midway through lunch! Disgusted by the way things were handled! Will definitely be letting every person I know to never stay at this hotel due to the complete rudeness of staff. Everyone at the restaurant is also aware!!

Family Activities

Pool
The outdoor pool, with a depth of about 3 to 5 feet, is situated on the roof deck. Lounge chairs surround the pool deck and even more tables and chairs can be found on a second roof deck situated on a level above the pool. The pool is open seasonally from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and pool towels are provided. No lifeguard is on duty. A second indoor lobby area with couches and vending machines can also be found just off the pool.

Beaches
The Lewes beach is about three blocks away. It is walkable, but with a bunch of beach equipment, parents may prefer to drive or bike. There is a large parking lot at the beach, but there is a fee for parking.

The large beach is situated on the Delaware Bay so the waters are calm. Parents can be worry-free as there are no riptides or waves in the bay.

If your family is looking for a stronger surf, try nearby Cape Henlopen State Park, Families can bike or drive to Cape Henlopen from the Beacon Motel. There is a fee to enter the state park, however parking is then free.

Equipment Rentals
Right next to the hotel is a vendor that rents bicycles and kayaks.

Lobby Games
The large lobby has dedicated corners just for kids to play. Kids (and parents) will love the giant chalkboard that covers one huge wall. A large fish tank next to the chalkboard will keep kids searching for little finned friends. Children's toys and child-size chairs and tables are perfect spots to play games, too.

Family Dining

There are no onsite restaurants at The Beacon Motel, nor is breakfast offered. However, numerous restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner are a short walk away from the motel. Complimentary coffee and tea are always available in the lobby.
