The Belvedere was the perfect place for our family to be on our most recent visit to NYC and we will continue to use The Belvedere in the future! We found the staff to be most helpful and friendly and accommodating to our young boys. My niece was more +even hobbling around on crutches and someone was always there to hold a door open for her!
The room was very spacious for a midtown hotel and all rooms come equipped with refrigerator and microwave and a full-size closet! The beds were very comfortable but I would recommend a sleep mask as our only disapproval of the room was that having a window unit meant that the curtain must remain open leaving the room very much lit thru the night!
Plenty of hot water and good pressure for a nice shower in the morning! There is also a gift shop in the lobby with plenty of nice little souvenirs if you need something quick - my son sent Dad a postcard as it was a Mom/son trip!
I don't think that you will be disappointed by the proximity to all of the wonderful midtown sights - Times Square is a two block walk (you come out at the Hershey store), Top of the Rock is 3 blocks further up, Central Park is 10 or so blocks the other way, there are numerous restaurants just a street or two over and Penn Station is straight down 8th Ave.
