Frog & Onion Pub Royal Naval Dockyard •Sandys, Bermuda •441-232-0571 This is the place to grab a bite when touring Dockyard. There just aren't that many sit-down restaurants. The pub-style menu includes burgers, shepher's pie (minced beef and mashed potatoes), salads and macaroni and cheese. |
Henry VIII 69 South Road•Southampton, Bermuda •441-238-1977 Down the road from The Reefs in Southampton is this local favorite. The dinner menu features fish, shrimp scampi, Filet Mignon, and a list of pastas that will keep the kids happy. Also try the sushi, which many Bermudans consider the best on the island. |
La Trattoria 23 Washington Lane•Hamilton, Bermuda •441-295-1877 This casual eatery in Hamilton makes for a good stop when exploring Bermuda's downtown. The eatery claims to have the only wood-burning pizza oven on the island. Pizza and pasta are good choices, especially since prices are reasonable compared to other island restaurants. There is a children's menu. |

Pickled Onion 53 Front Street•Hamilton, Bermuda •441-295-2263 From the upstairs balcony facing Front Street, you can take in Hamilton's downtown scene. The crowd changes depending on the hour. Families come for lunch and early dinner and later on, the Pickled Onion's trendy bar attracts 20somethings. Good bets include the coconut-crusted shrimp, the pan-seared rockfish, chocolate rum cake and the all-day Sunday brunch. |
Port O Call 87 Front Street•Hamilton, Bermuda •441-295-5373 You can't miss Port O Call, right on Front Street overlooking the harbor and ferry in Hamilton. The restaurant is a town favorite, winning accolades for its fresh grilled fish and lobster dishes. The sweet pan roasted scallops are also a treat. |
Waterlot Inn 101 Shore Road•Southampton, Bermuda •441-238-8000 Parts of this restaurant, one of Bermuda's oldest buildings, date to 1670. The ambiance and decor is 17th century English with high-backed chairs and wrought iron chandeliers with faux burning. The restaurant, pricey but worth it, serves steak and seafood. 'Tweens and teens into fine dining will like the place, as long as they can handle leisurely meals. |
