See recent posts by Hilarey Wojtowicz

Costa Rica is known for its lush tropical setting, with the sounds and sights of wildlife surrounding guests as they make their way to the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. The Central America country is home to a plethora of hotels and resorts that range from small boutique and family-owned properties to expansive resorts with multiple pools and kid-friendly programs—many of which are all-inclusive.

We’ve rounded up the best all-inclusive Costa Rica resorts for families to consider.

1. Allegro Papagayo

Guests of the Allegro Papagayo in Costa Rica, part of the Occidental brand of all-inclusive resorts, receive access to a private beach club, plus pools with volleyball and basketball, beach soccer, a kids’ club, daily and nightly entertainment and a disco for the adults (don”t worry, babysitting is available!).

Rooms and suites also feature family-friendly amenities like mini-bars with free drinks and snacks, coffeemakers, balconies and cribs or rollaway beds upon request. The resort can also set up special excursions to local attractions, such as Arenal Volcano or Palo Verde National Park.

2. Occidental Tamarindo

The five-star Occidental Tamarindo is located in Tamarindo, just over a mile from downtown, so families can enjoy a combination of city life and beach life. The hotel is located on a beach that has earned Costa Rica”s highest honors in Sustainable Tourism awards as one of the country”s safest and cleanest beaches. If that’s not enough, the resort offers all of the same great amenities you’d expect at an all-inclusive resort.
