The Clearwater Marine Aquarium—home to Winter the Dolphin—has partnered with The Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach Resort to bring the beloved dolphin and her sea turtle friend, Mavis, to your hotel experience. Winter, Mavis and Hope the Dolphin are the real life stars of the Dolphin Tale movies (although Mavis’ real name is Harold). Winter was critically injured and lost her tail in 2005 when she arrived at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, which is primarily a marine rehabilitation center. But she was treated and eventually fitted with the very first prosthetic dolphin tail to replace the one she lost, and she’s been inspiring kids and adults ever since!

The hotel offers 12 marine life-themed guestrooms, each one with a king bed and a set of bunk beds with either a Winter or Mavis the Sea Turtle theme, perfect for up-and-coming marine biologists! A Visit Winter hotel package includes tickets to the aquarium, a Winter plush toy and a hardcover copy of Winter’s Tale. A portion of the proceeds of your stay in a Winter or Mavis room is donated to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, too!

Designed by eclectic fashion designer Betsey Johnson and based on the leading lady of Kay Thompson’s celebrated book series, The Eloise Suite at The Plaza in New York City is the perfect escape for little ones and their families. The suite is located on the 18th floor of the hotel and features two rooms, one with a king-sized bed fitted in Eloise sheets and a pink sparkly headboard. Other features include a DVD player and DVDs, books, a tea set and Eloise and Weenie dolls. Those who book the Eloise Suite also enjoy an afternoon tea for two, an Eloise robe, a copy of Eloise at The Plaza, an Eloise puzzle and a $100 gift card for the Eloise Shop at the Plaza.

If extra space is needed, guests have the option to reserve an adjoining Nanny Suite, which comes with complimentary Champagne and truffles.

4. Despicable Me Kids Suites – Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Orlando

At the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, guests can live like Gru and his Minions in a suite modeled after Gru’s Laboratory in Despicable Me. The suite features a kids’ room with missile-shaped beds dressed in Minion-themed bedding—youngsters will feel just like Margo, Edith and Agnes! The room also has a flat-screen TV and a private entrance that connects to another room for mom and dad, and can accommodate up to five people with a rollaway bed. When you’re not at the hotel, head to Universal Orlando Resort for more Minion fun on Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem.

5. Kingdom, Pirate and Adventure Rooms – LEGOLAND California Hotel, Carlsbad, CA

All rooms at LEGOLAND California Hotel in Carlsbad and LEGOLAND Florida Hotel in Winter Haven are themed—choose between Kingdom, Pirate or Adventure. The Kingdom rooms feature bunk beds dressed in medieval bedding, and the walls are adorned with castle-like wallpaper and signs that read “Ye Olde Adults Keep Out!” The Pirate rooms feature bunk beds dressed in red and white striped bedding and topped with pirate pillows. The pirate theme even continues into the bathroom, where more thoughtful kids’ amenities can be found. The Adventure rooms have more of an Indiana Jones-type feel, and feature hieroglyphics and ancient Egyptian pharaohs.

Each room features a separate area for kids, complete with bunk beds and a trundle (sleeps up to three), plus an area with a queen bed for parents. Kids are also treated to in-room LEGOs and a treasure hunt.

This signature suite features a boisterous 1,600 square feet of all things Mickey. Amenities include a theater equipped with three flat-screen TVs, as well as a state-of-the-art animator’s station in the kids’ bedroom for nonstop fun. Other themed suites include the Pirates of the Caribbean Suite, which includes a fun doorbell, separate bedroom and a daybed with a curtain for little pirates; and Big Thunder, which features a living room and dining room, as well as two bedrooms. Each can sleep up to six guests and all are located on the 11th floor of the hotel’s Dream Tower.

7. TreeHouse Suite – Adventure Suites, North Conway, NH

Experience the great outdoors—inside. The TreeHouse Suite at Adventure Suites in North Conway, New Hampshire, features an actual treehouse with a play area and table and chairs for little ones. Across from the tree is the facade of a home, where parents can enjoy a two-person hot tub. Guests also enjoy fresh popcorn and cookies while they watch movies in their room—thousands of DVDs are available to rent free of charge. The hotel offers several other themed rooms, as well.

8. Camp Snoopy Room – Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel, Buena Park, CA

Peanuts and the gang fill the Camp Snoopy wing at Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel in Buena Park, California. Only steps away from Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park, these kid-themed guestrooms feature adorable Snoopy details. Peanuts characters line the hallway walls leading to the Camp Snoopy rooms, where the headboards on the beds are sleeping Snoopys and the carpets are covered in paw prints. Kids receive a Snoopy stuffed animal, and Snoopy himself does nightly tuck-ins for all the children staying in these rooms. How sweet!

9. Family Suites – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Orlando, FL

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort in Orlando offers an array of themed suites for both parents and kids to gush over. Suite themes include The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo. The Lion King Family Suites include jungle-like decorations, as well as murals of Simba, Timon and Pumbaa. The Cars Family Suites feature kitchens designed to look like an autobody shop, as well as paintings of cars racing through the desert. And finally, the Finding Nemo Family Suites take guests deep into the trenches of the sea by featuring fish-covered bedding, furniture and walls. All suites sleep up to six guests and come equipped with free Wi-Fi and kitchenettes. The hotel also has “The Little Mermaid” rooms that sleep families of four.

A whopping 670 square feet in size, the Jurassic Park Suites have a standard king bedroom with a sleeper sofa, plus a separate, themed kids’ room with two twin beds and a flat-screen TV. Families visiting a Great Wolf Lodge don’t only do so for the awesome indoor water parks—they also want to experience a stay in one of the three themed suites: Wolf Den, KidKamp or KidCabin. The Wolf Den Suite features a cave-themed sleeping area for the kiddies and sleeps up to six people; the KidKamp Suite offers a tent-themed sleeping area and sleeps up to six people; and the KidCabin Suite features a cabin-themed sleeping area and sleeps up to seven people, as well as a private balcony or patio.

The 727 Fuselage Suite is a refurbished 1965 Boeing 727 airframe that once flew with South Africa Air and Avianca Airlines. The two-bedroom suite sits in the treetops of Costa Rica near Manuel Antonio National Park, as if it just crash landed there. The hand-carved teak furniture makes you feel like you’re in a treehouse, despite being inside a plane!

Get transported to the City of Townsville, where you can live like Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. The Powerpuff Girls Dream Suite at the Cartoon Network Hotel accommodates up to six people, and is decorated with your favorite crime-fighting superheroes. The suite features a private bedroom with master bath and a separate space off of the living area with two sets of bunk beds, each bunk with its own TV! It’s likely every room at The Roxbury will delight kids, but the Cinderella cottage is especially magical.
