We stayed there for our first vacation with our adopted kids, they were 5 and 9. The Blackhawk was a great choice to stay at; I'd stayed there before with a traveling group. They have kitchenettes in which you can save lots of money and cook meals more +at the hotel. The bedrooms have their own rooms which was nice with the kids. They have a nice play area for the kids and the pool is well maintained and fun, with a slide and lots of other fun things to do. The price is affordable and the owners are attentive. This hotel is located in a safe area within walking distance to a few areas of the Dells. The other bonus is they allow pets, so our dog got to accompany us on this trip. We had a blast and got to see lots of stuff while still being able to go back to our hotel and rest as the location is convenient. We will probably go back again and again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this "old school" motel with recent updates. Our room (21) had 3 queen beds in two separate rooms, so our family of 4 and 2 grandparents could stay together. Each motel room has lawn chairs outside, so you can more +sit outside your room when the weather is good.

Beds were pretty comfy, our room had 2 flat screen TVs and a refrigerator which came in handy. There is a big travel mart type store just around the corner, for snacks for all, beer for parents, bottled water, etc. Parking right at your door is handy with all the kid and pool gear!

The family owned and operated motel shows a lot of pride. The pools (indoor and outdoor) are very well maintained. June in Wisconsin is iffy weather wise, so having an indoor pool steps from our door was great! the indoor pool has a fun little slide for kids and parents. Our kids (4 and 7) had a great time and never asked again about the bigger water parks we saw on the way into town. Plus, being a small motel, we could have floaties and beach balls in the pool and it was no problem.

We ordered Pizza Pub pizza one day for lunch and enjoyed it at one of the picnic tables by the playground. They have some playground equipment too.

This place is located close enough to downtown you could walk to all the shops and things to do if you had a stroller or older children. We drove the few blocks and parked on a side street, and our street parking was cheap, something like 25 cents an hour. The Dells is filled with candy stores, and there is an arcade type area with bumper cars and arcade games.

The motel is a motel, so bare bones on the bathroom amenities, bring your own shampoo. But it did have a sink outside the bathroom, which is very handy with multiple people getting ready. Overall a great stay for the money! If you are traveling with other people, it would be very easy to be close to them here when you book rooms.

We would definitely consider staying here if we come back to the Dells again.
