Epicurean Weekend-Outstanding

by Thomas D

We went for the Epicurean Weekend, which is the last weekend before the Inn shuts down for the winter. The theme was Australia and New Zealand. Friday night is a family style night, Saturday includes a wine tasting from the countries being featured and wine pairing dinner.
On Friday, my only suggestion is to set whatever the meal is in smaller serving bowls, and let us know what was coming. The mussels were untouched as they came after lamb chops, and some things were simply ungainly to pass.
The thing that made it special was the Food and Liquor Manager Dana and her husband, Chandler (I think I have the names right). Personable, engaged, professional--they made the weekend. Remembering our name, making suggestions and ensuring we had everything we needed made the weekend worth the drive and money. Well done!

Special Homer trip

by garden932

My daughter and I were excited to find that thr Black Point Inn was offering a special package that included a tour of the newly restored Winslow Homer studio. It is right along the cliff walk, but you can only see it thru the Portland Art Museum. A van picked us up at the inn, and a very small group were treated to a very knowledgeable docent. We took about an hour there. The inn is charming, great new bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner were included, and delicious. The inn is right on the ocean and the cliff path is accessible thru the parking lot. A two mike treck that is spectacular! Will be back!
