Winter doesn’t have to mean hibernation, not with so many cities hosting festivals to celebrate winter fun. In Michigan’s Traverse City, the annual Winter Wow!Fest will take place February 18 through 20 and provides a family fun event with music, food, ice and snow.
On Friday the 17th, enjoy Winter, Wine & Wow from 5 to 10 p.m. Visit a heated tent and sample local foods and ice wines for $10 admission.
On Saturday, enjoy the Monster Dog Pull from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., where dogs of all shapes and sizes can enter the competition. catch the Snowball Softball Tournament from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or run in the Soup’r Chili 5k at 10 a.m.
Funds raised at Wow!Fest help support the annual summer National Cherry Festival.
When booking accommodations, Traverse City is home to a Great Wolf Lodge, for indoor water park fun, and Tamarack Lodge, which features accommodations with full kitchens.

Dear Lissa,
Thanks for writing information about Traverse City!
I wanted to let you know that the Winter WOW Fest no longer exists, but has been replaced by the Traverse City Winter Comedy Arts Festival. (www.wintercomedy.org).
Many of the same events are taking place as mentioned above, but we’re also hosting a range of famous comedians to offer some fantastic entertainment for all of our visitors.
This is a very family friendly event and will be running from on February 14-17. You can find all the details for the event at the website above and for more information about Traverse City, including lodging options, please visit http://www.traversecity.com!
Thanks
