Andy Williams Moon River Grill 2600 West 76 Country Boulevard•Branson, MO •417-337-9539 Your kids probably don't have a clue who Andy Williams is, and maybe you don't either, but their grandparents should. This delightful all-American entertainer has been in the business for more than 75 years and was one of the biggest names in entertainment in the 1960's-80's. He and his brother started the restaurant based on recipes from their mother's Iowa cookbook. Comfort food like meatloaf, chicken pot pie, roast beef sandwiches, and apple pie that could only come from an Iowa mother's kitchen fill the menu. Andy has lunch here most days and may stop by your table to hum a note or two. |
BT Bones Steakhouse 2280 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway•Branson, MO •417-335-2002 Come here for just lunch or dinner or for dinner and a show. Either way you'll find some of the best steaks and barbecue in the region. Sweet cornbread, fried okra, wilted lettuce salad and a sweet potato casserole are among the southern offerings on the menu. The kids' menu includes a four-ounce steak along with a child-size serving of BBQ ribs. This is one of a limited number of restaurants in Branson that serves draft and bottled beer. |
Farmhouse Restaurant 119 W Main Street•Branson, MO •417-334-9701 This place in Old Town has been around almost as long as the Shepherd of the Hills himself, and is one place you'll be sure to find the locals. It's just simple good food all made from scratch, including chicken and dumplings and a killer blackberry cobbler. Kids portions of many entrees are available, but the hamburgers and fried chicken dinner should satisfy the pickiest of eaters, even if there's nothing "entertaining" about their surroundings. |
Rowdy Beaver Restaurant 1810 W 76 Country Blvd•Branson, MO •417-334-7409 At first appearance, the Rowdy Beaver may not look like a place for the family, but once inside, you'll see the tough biker crowd enjoying the barbecue and steaks as pleasantly as your family will. Surrounded by barn wood and rustic decor, it's okay for kids to get a little rowdy and explore while waiting for the all-you-can-eat-shrimp, fried catfish or fried chicken dinners. The nachos are extraordinary here as is the pork tenderloin sandwich. |
The White River Fish House 5 Bass Pro Drive•Branson, MO •417-243-5100 Owned and operated by the folks at the Bass Pro Shop, The White River Fish House shares a parking lot with Bass Pro at The Landing. The restaurant and massive deck are suspended over the water of Lake Taneycomo, offering beautiful views of the bluffs and boats on the lake. Inside you'll find two massive fireplaces surrounded by overstuffed chairs and low tables filled with board games, giving you the feeling of a large family gathering right in your own home. When it's time to eat, head to the table and enjoy several fish dishes, alligator and steaks. A kids' menu includes fun sandwiches, and the salads are extraordinary in flavor and size. For dessert, enjoy a slice of key lime pie or a massive chocolate chip cookie. |
