For most families, life revolves around the beach at The Breakers. Swim, or park yourselves at the new Active Fun Pool, a beachfront, free-form family pool with zero entry and an oversized whirlpool spa. There are five bungalows available for daytime rental around the pool, as well as a bathhouse with lockers and changing facilities, and a beach gazebo.

Besides the beach, The Breakers is known for its golfing. The resort has two 18-hole golf courses, with lessons for everyone, including children. There are 10 tennis courts, and other recreational sports include: beach volleyball, biking, snorkeling, kayaking, croquet, and soccer. There are also several jogging trails. The resort also offers scuba diving lessons for children 8 and older. The "Bubble Maker" class takes kids for a diving experience in the safe confines of a swimming pool, while "Discover Scuba Diving" is an ocean diving experience under the supervision of a PADI instructor. Kids must be at least 10 years old to participate in the latter.

The resort offers you plenty of opportunities to spend a little time away from the kids. The supervised children's program, Coconut Crew Camp, has age-appropriate activities for potty-trained kids ages 3 to 12. They participate in water play, scavenger hunts, and sports. You can sign up for a half-day or full day session, with prices starting at $60 and $90 including lunch, respectively. You may also drop off children ages 5 and older for monitored free play from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. for $15 per hour. During holiday weekends on Saturdays there is Family Night Out, which is a themed party for the kids and is $60 per child. Babysitting is also available 24 hours a day. One child is $16 per hour; two children are $18 per hour; and each additional child is $2 (with a 3-hour minimum).

The resort's family entertainment center is a 6,160-square-foot multiplex that includes an arcade, game room, toddler play area and craft room. Kids can catch a movie (G, PG or PG-13) in the movie room or play video games in the game room or arcade, which has 20 interactive video games, including a Nintendo® Wii. You can get unlimited tokens to the arcade for $25 per child.

The spa has 17 private treatment rooms, a beauty salon, and a fitness center with a whirlpool spa. There are many fitness classes offered daily, including power walking, aquaerobics, Yoga, and Pilates.
