First day back (10-22-11) from Trelawny Breezes resort and my overall rating is 2.5 out of 5 stars.
The resort lured you in by indicating it was a family friendly resort with tons of attractions to keep the family busy. At face value it
more +does. What no one tells you is that the traipse is open for one hour per day weather permitting; the jet skies were broke down our entire 7 day stay; sailing occurred when "staff were available"; you couldn't rent nor check out snorkeling gear, although weather permitting two times per day you could be taken by a resort boat to a limited reef area for about 30 minutes of snorkeling. The rock climbing wall was open for one hour during our entire 7 day stay. There was no trampoline in the bay area of the resort as indicated by the website. The resort web site indicated two water slides. Only one operated during our stay and it was closed down for half the days we were at the pool area. As a result of rainy days the mini golf course was essentially flooded.
The restaurant staff and housekeeping were extremely professional and hard working. The pool, security, bar, entertainment staff and water recreation staff were lazy, unprofessional and not approachable in the least. In fact often time's staff was seen consuming alcohol on the job. There appeared to be little supervision over the work they were performing. The pools and beach area were dirty. Although, the dining area, rooms and garden area of the resort were very clean.
Food quality was average to good. The bar area by the main pool offered alcohol and non-alcohol drinks as well as a snack bar; which would have been great if the bar was ever stocked with the components to produce a drink. Three out of seven days the bar had no pina colada mix, at various times throughout the stay beer was unavailable, on four separate trips to the bar to get a drink (even if it was just ice water) you were unable to get it because "sorry, my lady we are out of glasses". To take it further at one point they were out of every type of juice used to make a mixed drink.
I can say the resort has potential with a huge area and great court yard and pool side rooms. The layout of the two separate pool areas and the hot tub area is awesome. The idea of pool tables inside of a pool is great but they didn't have a full set of pool balls to even play a game. Overall, I was disappointed by the lazy staff, lack of supplies and lack of living up to what the website said it offered.

Staff
well well all i can say is i was going to take my children to this resort next year after i had checked it out myself. As I arrived in Treylawny I was so excited. The hotel looked amazing and the people were very nice. I was taking notes to make
more +sure this was going to be my spot. As we checked in at 2 pm me and my best friend as she also wants to bring her daughter next year. We had to wait 2.5 hours to get into our room so we stood in the lobby for 2.5 hours waiting. Arriving at 2 pm checking into our room So 5:45 pm we finally got into our room. When we got in there we were wanting to settle down and shower for the evening for dinner. Yikes NO HOT WATER AND THE OH THE TOILET DIDNT FLUSH....So there was another problem to prevent us from going out and we had to bug the maintenance all night. next day all morning was spent in the hotel speaking with management. It was a total of 7 hours out of 2 days we spent trying to get out room situated. It was a very nice hotel and the management and staff were amazing but we spent to much time trying to fix problems. we did end up getting a nice room after (upgraded). But then since Friday and half of Saturday was spent inside we only had Sunday Monday and Tuesday in the sun as we had rain wed Thur and Friday :(.. I really hope when and if i do go on that special vacation with my 5 children that we have a better experience then we did.
It was amazing I am in love with Calypso . Shes a beautiful dolphin. The staff are amazing and I loved being able to touch a sting ray. Must see.
We ate in a Japanese restaurant in the breezes Treylawny. I cant remember the name but it was amazing and the staff was great
Other then this it was a really great trip and we plan to go back to Jamaica in July 2010.
