Good location, but not much else

by Andrew K

We booked last minute so unfortunately we did not have a ton of options. We choose this location, and got cabin #5 - Sleepy Hollow. The location of the property between downtown Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park was great. And the cabin setup was nice and private (never heard any of our neighbors until the last morning we were there). But there was not much else to like.

The air quality in the room was extremely poor (e.g. wood smoke smell from the fireplace, a little musty) and the mattress gave us both back aches by morning. Some things we can overlook (e.g. limited kitchen supplies, dated decor), but it was hard to get comfortable in this cabin. For about $170 per night this did not feel like a good deal.

Good Enough

The rooms were reasonably priced and the lady working let us check in early. That was the last time we saw anyone working there, though we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel. The hotel definitely needs updating and while the majority of the room was quite clean, the stove was gross. I am glad we never used it. Also there was a smell we couldn't identify, that was quite annoying.
