The Equator, built on the foundations of the ruins of a 350-year-old sugar mill, specializes in seafood and grilled meats.

Caneel Beach Terrace
Caneel Beach Terrace, with its open-air dining room, serves breakfast and lunch buffets plus a Monday night grand buffet.


Caneel Beach Grill
The Caneel Beach Grill serves kid favorites such as burgers, sandwiches and salads.

Turtle Bay Estate House
Adults and children over eight years of age are welcome at the breakfast and lunch buffets served at the Turtle Bay Estate House, a restored 18th-century plantation house. With seating for up to 10 for private diners, the Wine Room offers a seven-course menu paired with wines from Caneel's collection.

Fish Trap
With kids and teens, we suggest you try some of the casual restaurants in Cruz Bay, St. John's main "town." Dine on a roofed deck, trying some of what gets rated as among the best seafood on the island. The eatery also serves chicken, burgers and tofu.

Zozo's, Gallows Point
Zozo's serves terrific Italian food. We especially liked the pistachio encrusted mahi-mahi as well as the osso buco. The restaurant, which doesn't offer a kids' menu, will create a kid-sized pasta.
