Don't want to go home!

We have had the best time at Canto Del Sol!

Before coming here we saw the recent few negative reviews and we didn't know what to expect.
Having stayed for just under two weeks, we have loved every minute and would definitely recommend! The food was great, yes it was better at the reserved restaurants compared to the buffet, but that is expected. And the buffet still had plenty of choice, in particular breakfast was great at the buffet, especially the omelettes! The Surf and Turf restaurant was great like everyone has said, however our favourite was the Italian! The restaurant was really cute and the food was so tasty. And the Japanese restaurant was lovely, this was a hidden gem we did not expect! Never stuck for choice with the 7 restaurants on site.

The beach was fine. Not sure why people have been complaining that it is so rocky, yes their are rocks, but easily walked around! We stayed around the pool area, as there was such a good atmosphere with the music and pool games. And the entertainment team were great!

The best part of this hotel. Are the staff!! Carlos at the snack bar, is hilarious, he is constantly so busy and rushed off his feet, but still finds time to crack a joke! And Jorge around the pool, could not to do enough for you.. I don't think their was any point I didn't have a drink in my hand when he was their!

My only negatives are the rooms are slightly dated and could do with a lick of paint, but they were always so clean! And they need to get rid of the seperate entertainment stage and move it closer to the beach and bar area so you don't feel like your too much at the theatre.

A fantastic stay, and I would definitely recommend!

Also, perfect location. We were right in the middle, only a short taxi journey to the Malecon and Marina!

Canto Del Sol Hotel

Just have returned from a 10 day break at the Canto Del Sol. We had a great time. Our room was dated, but spotlessly clean with a huge shower and separate vanity section outside of the bathroom which was great. The safe was free, and there were plenty of mirrors in the room, including a magnifying mirror. Everything did feel a bit "damp" but this was only due to the humidy and not damp in the room. The air con was good. The balcony was tiny, but we didnt use ours apart from drying bathing suits. There was a small washing line, which again was a bonus. We didnt spent a lot of time at the hotel and really just used it as our base for exploring. The time we spent around the pool was fine, there were plenty of sunbeds and not the ususal 5am reserving with towels. The weekends were busy with mexican families enjoying the pool, but it really wasnt too bad. We only heard lots of noise on 2 of the nights we stayed, and on 1 of those nights it was a wedding so that it was understandable. I think the noise probably sounded worse than it was as the corridors echoed everything. The drinks were excellent on the all inclusive basis, in fact the best we have had on an all inclusive basis. The drinks were branded, such as Jack Daniels, Jim Beam and Malibu. The drinks were served in plastic cups around the pool, but were not those horrible chewed ones you get at some hotels. The food was ok, but we fond ourselves struggling a little for variety towards the end of the holiday. No tummy upsets though, as everything seemed well cooked. We went to the speciality dinners as part of our package. Everybody raved about the food at the speciality dinners, but I honestly didnt rate them that highly. They were nice as a change from the main buffet though. Overall we have no complaints about our stay at the Canto Del Sol. It was well placed for exploring, it was clean, the staff were all very friendly, and we didnt go hungry. Nearly everyone we met during our stay were return guests which is always encouraging. We would use it as a base again if we returned to Puerto Vallarta.
