This was our first time traveling with our four children ( ages 4-9) out of the states... so we don't have a lot to compare. Our experience with the Catalonia was great --- first with that many children you are required to book two rooms (which had more +me a little nervous knowing my spouse and I would be sleeping in separate rooms, since our children were young) BUT when we got there they allowed us to stay in a suite - even brought us a roll away bed!!! So this started the trip out great.

The resort was small and secluded - the older ones could go around to different pools and on the beach - while we were with the younger ones - but was still able to keep your eye on them. We walked to the marina numerous times -- never once did I feel unsafe or threatened.

People off the resort were friendly and helpful --- those on the resort were always delightful. I would say our only complaint was the food -- I really could not handle the buffet again -- yes was able to find something to eat -- but none of it was great.

Reservations were also a pain -- wait in line to tell you they were booked -- we were there 6 nights and were only able to get three nights of reservations -- which meant the rest of the time was buffet. We would return to this resort --- but we are a family that likes to experience different places - a lot of the people we met had been there before. Overall -- this was a wonderful family vacation!!!
