Worst Service Ever!
by johnjl21
Bad signage throughout, both exterior and interior. In the pool area, lifeguards were chatting with each other and inattentive to people. The lady who handed out towels before we got into the pool area could care less, just flung over the ... more hand-towel sized towels with a scowl on her face. The rooms are outdated, the mattresses are old and firm, and the lighting in the bathrooms is dim. At the restaurant, the lady who seated us never said a word! Such as - 'here is your table, your server will be with you shortly'...nothing! Our waitress didn't bring drinks until 20 minutes after they were ordered (and it wasn't that busy) and forgot to bring plates for the salad bar we had ordered, and wasn't at all apologetic about it. Will not be staying here ever again!

Totally disappointed!!!
by No solicitation
Chula Vista boasts about their large indoor watermark, BUT when we got there it was so small that there was no room to sit and relax! Awful!

The room we checked into our room and it was clearly not cleaned because there were ... more still things in it. And the room smelled like cat piss! It took us about 1 1/2 hours to get another room! The water was cold, so if you have kids, might want to rethink to stay at this place.

I wouldn't t waste my money on this resort

Water park-Chula Vista resort
by Kevin099us
We went to Wisconsin Dells and stayed at Chula Vista Resort. The Condos were very nice and clean and had a great view of the Wisconson River. The water parks were wonderful and had activities for all ages. We had a blast and we will be ... more back!

Great Waterpark, but Sub-Par Rooms and Service
by diazfamily
We earned Gift Certificates for 2 free nights at the Chula Vista. We had been at the Great Wolfe 2 other times and were excited to try another resort location at the Dells.

Rooms- smaller, dated, and not nearly as inviting as the Great ... more Wolfe. The beds were not very comfortable. The drawers nobs on the dresser kept falling off. They didn't give you soap and shampoo like any other hotel. They were dispensers on the wall, which my younger children could not reach. The bathroom smelled terrible, and the staff had forgotten a woman's swimsuit still hanging on the shower rack. Not to mention, we had to ask them to come clean our room at 3pm since they hadn't done it before then, and when they finally did get to it, they didn't leave us any coffee, towels, and didn't really pick up the room.

The Waterpark- Great! The water was warm. There were plenty of fun slides and attractions which kept my boys enjoying themselves for 2 whole days. The hot tubs were very warm, except there was so much chlorine, our eyes were burning.

One negative with the water parks was the quality of the lifeguard work ethic. Many seemed to not speak English very well. They didn't seem enthusiastic about their work. Many seemed downright unhappy and sad to be there. I didn't find myself very confident in their life-guarding skills. And we frequent many water parks. By far the worst life-guard staff we've encountered.

There is no lobby that we could find where you could connect to Wi-Fi and have coffee at night. Any other hotel at least has a lobby with these amenities.

We did have a good time, because we are a fun family, and can have fun anywhere, but for those of you looking to plan a trip to the Dells, you're better off at the Great Wolfe from our experience.

more than less than impressed
by joseph2

Probably will not visit this resort again.

For the money, this was a less than average resort to stay at.
To start with, we were not put into the room we requested. I requested a room close to poolside and were ... more put as far away as possible, shuttle? not impressed. Only 2 pieces of Kleenex in the box in the room, no more to be found. When I told an employee out in the hall she said she would take care of it, never happened. TV in room needed help, remote barely worked.

Took a shuttle to the water park, used the bathroom and there was no paper towel to dry my hands. I walked out into the pool area and told my wife about it, she said that wasn't bad because there was no toilet paper in her stall. Swimming pool was so small that the kids were using the lazy river as the pool, not very relaxing for me or wife. towels at pool were the size of a dish rag. Times when life guards were not even paying attention to the rides they were operating, they were more interested in talking to each other than watching the kids go down and even telling the kids when they could go down. Bartender was extremely slow and had zero personality. Wait staff at breakfast hardly spoke any English and almost all food at buffet was cold and sub par. All the tip cups we saw around for all the employees, I felt like I was in Mexico. I would much rather spend the extra money and stay at Kalahari, Great Wolf, or Wilderness, otherwise instead of Chula, your better off staying at a small hotel that includes waterpark passes and save a ton of money.

Annual Stay with Good Water Play
by lmtlynn
Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells is a great family destination.

I stay here annually for a professional conference and often bring the extended family. The rooms are always clean. I enjoy both the Tower rooms, and the Junior Suites ... more with their fireplace and private balcony. Restaurant dining is not on the cheap at the hotel, but the fridge and microwaves in the rooms make it very convenient to being along your own.

The kids (and adults) loved the water park, with a good variety of slides and activities. The game room is not as stellar as we would have liked, but still very fun. There is a calendar of kid friendly activities very day - the hay ride was our favorite.

For the adults, the spa and clubhouse by the golf course were nice kid-free breaks.
The tourist strip is minutes away by car with a myriad of activities and dining choices available.
A definite win for the whole family.

Finally got to Chula Vista, had to wait til Winter!!
by lv2goclo
I had been wanting to go to Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells for quite some time. Since it was impossible for us to afford in the summer, we went for a winter trip to see the indoor waterpark, Lost Rios.
Chula Vista is out by itself away ... more from other Dells activities, which was fine in the winter.
We all loved the indoor waterpark and found the staff there to be friendly and professional. The restaurant and its all-you-can-eat crab legs left a lot to be desired. It was pricey, short-staffed, and full of complaining and irritated waitstaff (when you could find them). Too bad the dinner practically ruined the trip!
Staff at the front desk of the resort were amazingly friendly and helpful and the underground tunnel to the waterpark was great since we didn't have to walk outside in the cold to get to it.
