This is the 2nd largest Club Med in the world, and it feels like it! Our hotel room was so far away from the pool/beach that we would pack up everything possible that we'd need during the day and would not return to our rooms until it was time to more +wash up for dinner.

Our visit was during Christmas, and it was 100% full - which created other problems. Although the staff was VERY nice, there just wasn't enough of them to keep up with all the visitors' needs. We waited a min. of 2 hours to get anything delivered to our room, at meal time (all buffets) we were constantly waiting for tables to be cleared and re-set for "new" diners, and used plates weren't cleared in a timely manner. Food was good, nice selection, lots of fresh fruits, etc. After visiting other Club Meds... i'd say - pass on Punta Cana.

We flew from Washington DC to Punta Cana direct (Super Easy with 4 kids ages 1 to 7), and were met by the Club Med directly outside of the gate. They gathered our luggage and loaded us into the van to Club Med. We were greeted with refreshing more +drinks and taken to our room. We signed up the kids for Kid Club that night and ate at one of the 2 buffet resturants on the premises. The food was great for Buffet style and the staff were wonderful.

The kids club was great for all the kids. We have shy to very outgoing kids and they all loved it. The staff was so sweet and kind and the kids loved the activies. I have to say it is NOT a place to go dump your kids while you sit on the beach and drink cocktails. The kids loved it. They did treasure hunt, participated in two shows on the huge stage (big one on Saturday), did circus school, they took the kids sailing. It was great, and all the kids didnt want to leave kids camp.

The only issue I have was with the food. I am not a big fan of buffet style food. It was delicious and very fresh, however, I find it similar to grazing at the trough with the others.

The place is very spread out, so our place which was up by the achery/soccer field was hike. But I guess we walked off the delicious crepes we ate every night.

Bottom line: Great for kids, quick nonstop flight, dont go for the dining experience.

We spent a week this past Spring at the Club Med Punta Cana, and I have to say, the place exceeded our expectations. We loved the resort. The rooms (which had recently been renovated) were perfect for our family of four. The food was spectacular more +and there was always a variety, which also changed nightly. The instructors at the kids club were friendly and fun and made sure to make our two little ones feel included. I really cannot say anything bad about the resort. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

We had been to all inclusives in Mexico and Dominican Republic before and enjoyed them. Club Med Punta Cana was a level above the rest.
The kids activities were superior (soccer, archery, roller blading), the equipment was in mint condition more +(brand new tennis racquets), and the instructors (aerobics, boating) were top notch. When my husband hurt his shoulder, one of the sailing instructors gave him some stretching exercises that helped.
The food was excellent but the resort should do something to keep the flies away.
