Overview

Ashland’s Comfort Inn & Suites offers familiarity, convenience, value, and (of course) comfort. The rooms are clean and recently renovated, with soft bedding (and a choice of soft or firm pillows), coffee makers, and free Wi-Fi; certain rooms also include a microwave and mini-fridge. Onsite you’ll find a 24-hour heated pool and hot tub, as well as a fitness center and guest laundry.

When morning arrives, head to the breakfast nook for a complimentary buffet including hot foods like eggs, meat, and waffles, plus standard continental options like yogurt and fruit. If you don’t feel like going out to grab lunch or dinner, several nearby restaurants deliver to the hotel; there’s also a Burger King across the street.

Nice dog friendly hotel. There is a large outdoor area for dogs to potty and sniff around. Hotel staff were all very friendly. Rooms are adequate, bed and bedding comfy. Morning, fresh waffles that you make yourself.

Positive the room, negative was management

Stayed at a double-bed room in late July. The hotel is just off a main highway but a tad far from center of town, you will need a vehicle for sure.

POSITIVES
-Check-in was smooth
-Hotel is well mantained
-Room is spacious
-Bed is confortable
-Small fridge and microwave in room
-Breakfast was standard, not terrible and not too much selection but the place looks clean

NEGATIVES
-The pool is next to the lobby, people checking in will totally see you, didn't bother using it
-Location, it is far from city and nothing at walking distance except a couple gas stations
-BIGGEST COMPLAINT: They appear to be under-staffed, even though it looked kinda empty. Read below for details...

Upon arrival someone with me flushed the toilet to check to see if it worked, no one from us had actually used it yet. Guess what? It did not flush which I know, stuff breaks eventually which I understand.

I called reception and no one picked up for about a minute. This was at about 4PM by the way. I hanged up and called again a few minutes later. Eventually someone picked up and I informed them of the problem, the lady at the front desk said "OK, I will send a plunger to your room..." I'm like WTF, so the toilet doesn't work upon arrival and I have to fix it myself? Anyways, I waited for about 25 minutes and nothing haplened, I ended up calling reception again because we actually had to use the restroom and she RUDELY replied that they were very busy checking in people, and that she will get me the plunger when she wasn't busy anymore. WTF #2, so what am I supposed to hold it? She was VERY rude and acted like she was doing me a favor.

Eventually they did send an old plunger in a used plastic grocery bag, nasty as hell. I was fed up at this point and used it since we needed a restroom for the night.

THIS IS UNNACCEPTABLE FROM MANAGEMENT AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED TO FIX THINGS MYSELF ON BROKEN ROOMS IN OTHER PLACES I HAVE STAYED BEFORE. SO I GUESS IN THIS HOTEL IF THE AIR CONDITIONER WASN'T WORKING THEY WILL SEND A SCREWDRIVER AND TOOLS TO THE ROOM FOR ME TO FIX? They were nice at check-in but that concepcion soon faded.

The hotel itself is not bad, but management has A LOT of room for improvement and this episode will not make me want to come back to this place.
