Your best choice when visiting this part of Savannah.

by Ed P

My wife and I stayed in the Comfort Inn while visiting my sister who was in Candler Hospital. This is an older part of town and we wanted to make sure we stayed in a hotel with interior entrances. Since we had never visited this part of Savannah before we weren't sure about safety. It turns out this is a very safe part of town. Still this is the only hotel close to the hospital with interior entrances. The hotel appears to be newly updated to meet Comfort Inn Standards. The room and common areas were clean and in good condition. The breakfast was adequate, although we're not crazy about their scrambled eggs. If you are visiting this part of Savannah, this is a good choice.

Looks can be deceiving

We pulled up to the hotel and it looked very nice. Clean, well manicured. The lobby was a little off, guess they were trying to bring some of old Savannah in into the lobby. It didn’t work.

Just looked old and worn. Staff was friendly enough.

As we entered the room the first thing this hit us was the smell. A commercial cleaner smell. It smelt like a fast food restaurant bathroom more than a hotel room.

The room was well worn, stains her and there and best of all you could see where there was a tv in the sitting area of the room but was removed. The place where the brackets were attached very badly covered over and the coaxial wire hanging with no place to go.

As this was a one night stay we decided to stay put. But we won’t be back. There’s way too many hotels in the area to stay at this one again
