Typically skiing is best at Copper Mountain Resort from November to March or April, depending on the yearly snowfall. There are 22 lifts and 126 marked trails in a variety of skill levels. The Copper Ski & Ride ski school offers skiing and snowboarding lessons for children ages 3 to 15, and adult lessons for skiers and riders of all skill levels. Kids will love the small lake for ice skating and a giant tubing hill. As conditions permit, there are other snow sports as well, including snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog sledding and kite sledding. Those not quite so adventurous can take in the mountain's beauty on a horse drawn sleigh ride or enjoy one of the many evening activities off the slopes: live entertainment, dancing, and bonfires with s'mores.
There is no shortage of summer activities at Copper Mountain Resort, either. Families can take ATV tours, rent bikes and hit the mountain trails, play in the lake with bumper and paddle boats, or climb the largest outdoor climbing wall in Colorado. Older kids can try out the karting track, or take a horseback trail ride at the stables. One of the most unique activities offered at the resort in the warm months is the Diggler, which is an off-road scooter-like contraption with thick wheels. Kids can take the chairlift up the mountain, and ride the scooter down. Quad Power Jump is another fun one: Picture a pogo stick on bungee cords where you are strapped in while bouncing, flipping and spinning through the air. Kids as young as two can give it a whirl, as well as big kids and adults up to 210 pounds. There's also a miniature golf course and white water rafting. Summer day passes from June to September offer unlimited access to bungy, miniature golf, the Diggler, bike haul, lake activities, the climbing wall and one time on the karts.
The resort's Belly Button Babies & Bakery is an on-site childcare facility located in Center Village, for children ages 8 weeks to 6 years old. The babies program is for children 8 weeks to 2 years, with a separate area for children between 2 and 6 years old. Full and half-day sessions include snacks and a hot lunch every day. For older children the day will include both indoor and outdoor play; the kids' program has its own designated area for snow play and sledding. A list of qualified babysitters can be provided; but the resort does not coordinate those services.
The resort also has an arcade, and loads of shopping options located in each of the three villages at the resort. The Copper Athletic Club has a four-lane pool that always has at least two lanes open for family and recreational swimming. You'll also find a weight room, cardiovascular center, massage, facials and racquetball.
