Great historic building and Great location also

by SuzyMiami

I recommend this hotel. It is a good price. This is a 1925 historic building with a lot of classic charm and cool public spaces. My room was a bit outdated and could use some remodeling, but was absolutely fine & comfortable. Next to and around the corner are restaurants like PF Changs, Brazilian FAO C., Cheesefactory, etc., I went to Rye; not good-- don't recommend. But many other choices. And there is a classical old architecture plaza w/ all the good stores. Very nice. Also across the street big open park for walking. St. Lukes Hospital next door; campus close by.

Understaffed

Check in took 25 mins as there was only one person working and she also had to answer phone calls and the same person delivered extra pillows an hour later. We felt terrible for her as it was just too much for one person to manage. We also got stuck in a room right next to the elevator, make sure you don’t get room 412! Like you walk out and there is a line of people directly in front of the door waiting on the elevator. The only real benefit to the hotel is the proximity to the plaza, otherwise it’s a pretty bad hotel overall particularly for the price.
