Something Less Than a Courtyard

by NXTTRP

We stayed at the Courtyard Chicago Midway Airport one night due to early flights in the morning. This is a perfectly good hotel, but it’s something less than a Courtyard. The finish is missing and the seating area typically found in a Courtyard is abbreviated in this hotel.

This property is located just South of Midway Airport in a cluster of hotels within a price range. It’s not the best hotel in the cluster, nor is it the most inexpensive. It happens to be linked to a TGIFriday’s which can work well.

The hotels in this cluster share a shuttle service to the airport which runs every 20 minutes. In addition to the restaurants tagged to some of the hotels, a couple of Chicago’s finest pizza restaurants have opened stores within walking distance.

Good Stay. Poor Housekeeping

by Jennifer M

Selected this hotel near family and friends and Marriott is always a good brand. The hotel overall was a nice hotel and our stay was pretty quiet. Only a few complaints and warnings to future guests. If you're above about 5 feet tall, the amenities in your room may be a little uncomfortable as the dresser, refrigerator and television are pretty much sitting on the floor. Also, the outlets located at our desk were not working and the outlets near the beds were not the best as our plugs dangled out of them. Housekeeping could do a lot better with cleaning as there was no complimentary lotion for our room and the ice bucket was nasty and dirty. I left it in clear sight for her to clean and she never replaced the ice bag or cleaned the bucket and its top. The minimum was done - replaced towels, made the bed and took our trash was performed, nothing more. I got my own paper cups off of her cart in the hallway as I never trust the glasses in the room, especially if the ice buckets aren't cleaned. The front desk and lobby areas are beautiful and that welcoming smell is always nice when you enter a Marriott hotel.
