Very Impressed!!

by ColoChick_11

This property had encouraged us to stay at the Courtyard hotels more regularly. Thoroughly remodeled, the lobby and room were both very pleasant. The linens were of a much higher quality than expected and the bed was extremely comfortable. On top of it all, we received excellent service from all of the staff - thank you! I highly recommend the Courtyard Sherman Oaks. (Great location as well!)

Great Location, Polite and friendly staff

We decided to have a weekend get-a-way to LA and decided the Sherman Oaks area was our best bet for what we wanted to see in the area. We decided to stay at the Courtyard since I am a "status member" with the Bonvoy program.

After a rather long drive (405 construction and a couple of CHP highway shutdowns due to accidents) we arrive at the Marriott Courtyard around 10:30 pm. The first person I met was the front desk attendant. Her name is Sierra. She was very nice and helpful in laying out the hotel and where the self-parking garage was located.

We were given a room on the sixth floor. When we got to our room, we immediately conducted an inspection for cleanliness and those oft-heard about bedbugs. We turned the room inside out and found no evidence of bedbugs and the room was clean. After a long drive and sitting in the car for many hours, we both took showers. The water pressure was great and the water was hot. My only note would be for tall people. I'm 6'5 and I had to duck in the shower stall, with the ceiling being only about 6'3 or so. Not a deal-breaker, but something to note...

We tend not to spend a lot of time in hotels when on vacations or get-a-ways. We are out and about during almost all of the sunlight hours and only return to get sleep for the night...so maybe 9 hours out of the day is in the hotel. With this little time in the hotel, we don't usually get much time to explore the amenities. So we have no impression of the room service, pay for view channels, deliveries, laundry services, etc. The only thing we did use was the "regular" internet provided. You could opt "up" to a premium internet, but the regular speed worked just fine for our needs (two cell phones and a laptop).

We would definitely stay here again.
