Kennywood Trip

by Bob R

This is a great place to stay for a trip to Kennywood. The location puts you close to the park and in a great shopping/nightlife area.

This hotel doesn't offer a free breakfast, but don't let that stop you from staying here. The room was very well done and clean. I judge a room by the cleanliness, the layout and availability of power. (Let's face it, we're all power hungry because of our devices these days.)

This room didn't disappoint. Plenty of desk space, a chair to relax in and plenty of outlets. The room was exceptionally clean, including the bathroom and the tub. I was in a room with the view of the river, which was mostly blocked by trees and foliage, but that's not anything that the hotel has control over. I wouldn't pay the extra to get a river view room is all I'm saying.

The bed was comfy and had a nice mix of sheet and comforter layering. I always hate when it's a thin sheet and a super heavy comforter on top of that. It makes it tough to get the right layering to be comfortable. That wasn't the case here, which is rare.

The bathroom was better than the average bathroom. A quarter-wall separates the sink/counter top from the toilet. That's a nice feature that I wish more places had. The bathroom has plenty of space for those traveling with someone and need to share the space.

I didn't get to the bar area or have the breakfast that they do offer so I can't speak to any of those, but what I did see looked nice.

Front desk staff was great and handled everything like I expected.

Good stay and would definitely stay here again.
