Overview

The Crystal Pier is a landmark hotel that allows guests to stay on the beach and over the ocean. Guests can relax to the sounds of the surrounding ocean waves. Cottages are small and quaint, providing a “one-with-nature” feel. Inside, however, cottages are complete with living rooms, kitchens, televisions and spacious bedrooms. Cottages have decks with beach and ocean views. A main throughway follows the middle of the pier and families can park right in front of their unit. It’s smart to book ahead as this property fills up quickly.

What a unique place to stay

We have stayed in the cottages on the pier a couple of times with family members. The bungalows we had were pretty basic, but you are paying to be able to stay literally on the pier right on the beach (including parking your car on the pier!) They even have daily housekeeping and fresh towels delivered to your cabin.

It doesn't get any better.

Staying on Crystal Pier has been a dream of mine since I was a child, so this was definitely a bucket list item and we were not disappointed. Cute, cozy cottages, private patio, parking on the pier, great security. Walk to everything in Pacific/Mission Beach (including our favorite taco shop). Best of all, lulled to sleep with the waves right underneath. A very special stay.
