The kid-favorite Beach Pool has a zero-depth entry, cascading waterfalls, a waterslide and a Jacuzzi. Each afternoon resort staff lead poolside games like water balloon toss and trivia contests, as well as an obstacle course and dodgeball on the beach. For a less activity-oriented swim, head to the enormous Courtyard Pool. Here you'll find an oversized hot tub as well as a shallow wading pool for tots. Note: Diaper-age children are required to wear swim diapers or rubber pants when using any of the pools.

The Mouseketeer Club is the place where potty-trained kids age 3 to 12 can play with toys and watch G-rated Disney films, each evening from 4:30 p.m. until midnight ($11.25 per child, per hour, minimum two hours and includes dinner). This club is much smaller than Polynesian's Neverland, offering fewer toys but more personal attention, with two staff members hosting up to 12 kids. Inside, kids will find Lincoln Logs, Legos, board games and Playstation, plus a wide-assortment of beads and craft items for making art and jewelry projects.

Parents are allowed to accompany children in the center at the beginning of the evening to help them settle in. Afterwards, parents receive pagers and are contacted if needed. Each staff member is trained in CPR, first aid, as well as in how to use an EpiPen (parents provide).

Dinner is served in the club each evening, and kids can choose from grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, chicken nuggets, and mini pizzas. Side offerings: grapes, carrot sticks, or applesauce. Call 407-WDW-DINE for Mouseketeer Club reservations

Parents can take a trip to the spa or lounge by the pool during the following themed activities held just for kids:

Pirate-loving children can dress in bandanas and a black life jacket (with skull and cross-bones) for a sail on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake as part of Disney's Pirate Adventure aboard the Lady Useppa. Three Disney cast members lead the fun as their crew stops at various resorts along the lake finding a coconut with a map, discovering buried treasure, and enjoying a lunch provided by Disney. The ship can host up to 24 children and sails Monday-Saturday mornings.

Kids that love a good tea party can decorate cupcakes and enjoy lunch and tea with the Mad Hatter and Alice at the Wonderland Tea Party. Party held Monday-Friday afternoons.

Both of the above activities are for children ages 3 to 12. Call 407-WDW-PLAY for reservations.

Family Friendly Activities
Rent a Sea Raycer, pontoon boat or Montauks at Captain Shipyard Marina (the resort's marina) and sail around the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Challenge your child in a Wii game, poolside, in the afternoon.

Evening events include the nightly Electrical Water Pageant (a floating light show of boats on the Seven Seas Lagoon), a campfire sing-along where you can purchase the fixings to make s'mores by the Mickey-shaped fire pit, and movies on the beach (held on the grass behind the Beach Pool). Be sure to check the activities schedule to confirm days and times for each.

Resort Shopping
Grand Floridian has six stores selling assorted souvenirs and apparel. Visit M. Mouse Mercantile for Pirates of the Caribbean and Disney Princess items as well as children's clothing, toys, books, pins and assorted other souvenirs. Sandy Cove Gift and Sundry sells snacks, beverages, over-the-counter medicines, plus postcards and stamps. Commander Porter's sells Tommy Bahama and Ralph Lauren clothing for men, while Summer Lace features women's designer fashions, swimwear, and Grand Floridian logo items. Pop in to Basin White and sniff the sweet-smelling soaps.
