Polynesian's guest rooms are located in eleven two-to-three-story "longhouses," and accessed through interior corridors. First floor rooms offer patios; third floor rooms have balconies, which are open rail, so you'll want to watch toddlers and prevent them from climbing up on chairs. The majority of longhouse second floor rooms have windows that open but no balcony. While you cannot be guaranteed a particular floor preference, it can be noted in your reservation.

Inside, the spacious standard rooms include two queen beds, a sofa/day bed, armoire with flat-screen TV, desk with a table that pulls out from beneath it (to accommodate room service trays), and a chair with ottoman. In addition, each room has a small refrigerator, iron, ironing board, room safe, hair dryer, free copy of Family Fun magazine, plus coffee maker. Families can request cribs, playpens and bedrails at no extra charge. Rollaway beds are not available.

Bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and a good hair dryer (not the mini wall attached units). Toothpaste and toothbrushes are also available upon request. A self-service laundry facility is available near the bus stop ($2 per load).

All rooms are nonsmoking. Designated smoking areas can be found outside and on a few decks adjacent to longhouses. While most of the rooms are identical, the views are not, hence Polynesian's room pricing is based on the following:

Lagoon View rooms look out over the Seven Seas Lagoon, some with nice views of the Grand Floridian. Magic Kingdom View is basically a lagoon view, but these rooms have a straight on view of the Magic Kingdom, allowing you to watch the fireworks from the comfort of your room, and/or balcony. Garden View rooms look out at the lush tropical landscaping (and if you're lucky bunnies scampering about), walkways, or, the Polynesian's parking lot.

Once you've selected a room category from above, a building preference can also be noted, although not guaranteed, in your reservation. Then, 7 to 10 days prior to your arrival fax your reservation information and preference to the Polynesian resort room assignment desk at 407-824-3174. Request examples include: for rooms with a view of a pool ask for the Samoa building. For a short walk to the Ticket and Transportation Center (i.e. monorail to Epcot, request Rapanui and Tahiti, although note that they are furthest from the Great Ceremonial House. Rarotonga and Niue are closest to the Ceremonial House and a short walk to pools too.

Suites:
Tonga longhouse is home to all suites including the Honeymoon Jr. Suite, one-to-two bedroom suites that can accommodate up to six people, and the King Kamehameha two-story suite, two-bedroom suite. Suites offer assorted extras like whirlpool tubs, clock/CD player, two-three bathrooms, mini-kitchens and dining room area (in the larger suites). Access to the concierge club in Hawaii longhouse, evening turndown service, plus the convenient food set up (pastries and coffee in the morning; snacks and fruit in the afternoon) is also included.

Concierge Club Rooms:
Located in Hawaii longhouse. These rooms are like the others except they come with all of the Concierge Club perks like pre-arrival itinerary planning (a concierge helps plan your stay, which parks to visit when, character breakfasts, horseback riding, spa treatments, etc. and then make the appropriate arrangements, after which you receive a nice printout of your plans). At check-in you can avoid the lobby line and check in at the club. Plus the concierge club room itself has flat screen TVs (one with kid's programming and one in the loft above for adults only), a fantastic view of the Magic Kingdom's fireworks with the soundtrack piped in, plus continental breakfast in the morning and a spread of snacks, sodas, wine and beer in the evening.
