We had a wonderful time at the Pop Century. The decorations are fantastic and you honestly could take a whole day of browsing the grounds. The decor is quite whimsical and attracts people of all ages. Our kids thought the gift shops and the dining more +rooms were great. There was a big selection of food. Several different food counters were in the food court. The water in the pool was a little chilly, but it was November after all. The rooms are small. Think Motel 6 kinda small, but at the end of the day, as long as I had a place to lay myself down, I was good. It is a big resort so expect to do some walking. But walking goes hand in hand with Disney. You can pay a little extra and get a preferrrd room if the extra walking bothers you. They have laundry facilities there by the pool so I was able to start a load and step out and watch my kids and do laundry at the same time. The bus situation here is not much different than any other resort. Almost all of them are slow to a certain extent. Have always had friendly drivers so that's a plus.

We decided to take a last minute, quick, 5 day trip to Disney World in late January. Went as cheap as we could, so stayed at the Pop Century Resort because it is a "Value" resort. Was so pleasantly surprised!! Not only was it extremely more +clean, but looked brand new. The upkeep was incredible. The "Cast Members" are the nicest, most helpful employees I've ever met.

There were several pools and many things for the kids to climb on and pose with for pictures. The restaurant is kind of set up in a cafeteria style so my first thought was that is was going to taste like cafeteria food. Oh my gosh, I was shocked...everything we had was so good. In fact, two members of our party have Gluten Allergies and we just figured they would be eating fresh fruits and vegis and that would be about it. Oh no, not at Disney! The chefs came out and talked to them about their likes and wishes. Ended up giving them many choices and amazingly produced the most incredible gluten free meals every single time. I can't even describe how important and utterly fantastic this is. It is normally very hard to eat gluten free while traveling because even fixing gluten free foods where gluten containing items have been prepared can cause terrible problems.

We had the best time at the Pop Century Resort and that was just the hotel!!! Once we hit the parks, we were in Heaven.

Highly, highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very basic but a good price. Since we had planned to be in the parks all day we decided to stay somewhere cheaper. So the rooms are not spectacular but were sufficient for what we needed. The grounds are fun and lots to look at. It was more +chilly in January so we didn't swim. The location is not bad because the bus takes you directly to the parks, no stops on the way so you actually get there pretty quickly. The thing we were most disappointed in was the friendliness of the staff...they were not friendly or all that helpful. They seemed to be annoyed that they had to deal with people. This was a strong contrast to our two experiences at the wilderness lodge where they were fantastically friendly, welcoming, helpful. Your typical 'Disney going out of the way for their guests'. I assumed all of Disney was like that but apparently not. Overall pop century was fine and Disney world was awesome!

Hey everyone! For this trip my family consisted of myself, my husband, and our 3 year old daughter. My family and I have been to Disney World three times in the past 2 years. This was our first time staying on Disney World property. We stayed at more +the Pop Century resort March 12-17, 2010.

We arrived about 2am and thought for sure we would be the only ones checking in..boy were we wrong! There was about 30 people checking in! We did online check-in and they had a special line with no wait! So that was great! We were in and out within 5 minutes! So needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend online check in.

Our actual room was a good distance away from the main building. If someone in your party has problems walking, then I would request a closer room or another resort all together. I have artificial legs and use a motorized scooter. Without the scooter I could not have walked to our room. The room itself was very clean but just a regular room. A mini fridge or microwave would have been nice...but these were fee extra items so we bypassed this time.

It was nice using Disney's transportation and saving the daily $12 parking fee. It took about 20 minutes to get to each park, but you did not have to ride the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. I had read horror stories about the bus pick up and drop off, however it was VERY smooth and easy. They had a bus stop for each park/ disney area offered. When you leave the parks there's a specific bus to take you back to the resort. There are NO stops once on the bus. You go straight to the park or straight to the resort. This was a concern I had from the many reviews. So many said pop century was the last stop, etc. Not sure how the transportation system ran before but each resort has it's own bus and each park has it's own bus. With buses constantly arriving and departing.

The resort itself was nice. Lots of really cool things to see. Just looking around and playing on the resort took up a day..lol They have twister and other games for outside. In the lobby they had dances where the staff would show you how to do certain dances on certain days. Bunnies take over the grass around midnight and it's fun to watch the kids chase them around. Our particular housekeeper made several towel animals during our stay. We placed them in our window to show off how much we enjoyed them!

Overall, with this particular disney resort you get just a plain jane room. We got it for a great price and would do it again. However, if we were going during peak times we would not spend that kind of money for the plain jane room. You can get condo's and houses for the same price. You are paying for the convenience of remaining in a disney state of mind..when you stay at these resorts. We enjoyed it and again will probably stay there again on off peak times. But we ended up not wanting to leave anything Disney...so we payed a LOT more for food. I think that is their trick..lol There are a ton of pro's and con's. I hope this review has helped you make your decision! Happy Traveling!!!

Pop Century Resort is called a Disney Value Resort. The price was the lowest I could find on the Disney property, but it had all the amenities of the more expensive resorts. The room was a little small for the 3 of us, but we really weren't in the more +room much at all anyway. The Disney transportation is so convenient to the theme parks.

My wife and I took a trip with our 3 year old daughter to Pop Century in Jan. 2010 and I wanted to write about our experience. We have stayed on Disney property many times (Port Orleans Riverside, Coronado Springs also) and have like both of the more +other properties. We have stayed at Pop Century 4 times when going with our daughter, because it is the BEST property with kids. It is the newest of the value resorts, it's priced very reasonably.

The activities for kids are good, and their transportation to the parks is excellent as well. The pools are very big and creative, and the buildings are themed by decade which is fun and quirky. The rooms are nothing spectacular and could be modernized a little (better beds), but likely, you aren't spending a lot of time in the rooms at Disney anyway. There is a cool bar by the main pool, and they make excellent, strong mai tais. My wife and I would get one every night and relax after a long day of walking through the parks - a nice way to wind down.... the food here is good too....

If I were just going with my wife, I'd stay at a different resort due to a lot of kids here, but with kids (under age 10 or so), I wouldn't stay anywhere else .... the best, value priced, Disney-owned property!

We visited Disney World for two weeks in May 2007. Unfortunately, we stayed at the Pop Century for only 5 nights then went to another hotel to attend a conference. We were sad to go even though we moved to a 5 star resort. We absolutely loved the more +Pop Century Resort.

The grounds are massive, fun and well maintained. The Disney cast members were upbeat, cheerful and very helpful. The biggest bonus is the free transportation to all of the Disney parks, including Downtown Disney. Extra morning and evening hours make the stay worthwhile alone and the Pop Century is already one of the best values around.

Food was good depending on your choices. We ate a lot of salads and they were fantastic. One of our party has a food allergy and the chefs were incredibly accommodating and took pride in preparing a healthy, safe meal at each visit. I do not recommend the dining plan unless you are a very big eater. We did not get the plan and would have found it difficult to consume enough food to make it worthwhile.

We plan to go back to Disney World in 2010 and will be staying at the Pop Century Resort for sure!

On this Disney Vacation we stayed at the best value hotel at Disney World the Pop Century Hotel Resort. This is a great hotel and the best value when your on a budget. My kids loved the hotel and along with staying on Disney Property. There were more +many reasons why we said on site at Disney, we were able to go into the parks earlier and able to stay later than the rest of the guest. Transportation is provided to every park in Disney World via bus, monorail, or water taxi no need to get in your car until it's time for you to leave. I would suggest this hotel for families on a budget and or when they are taking there first trip to Disney. It was also a great deal to get the Disney dinner plan the kids loved it.

Pop Century is wonderful for very young children. Our 3 year old loves the over-sized character decorations and brightly colored buildings. The pool areas, especially the main pool, are vibrant and super kid-friendly. I appreciate that they supply, more +free of charge, life jackets for kids as well. The food court offers most any kid-friendly dish imaginable. This is a bustling, bright resort that caters to young kids. And it helps that is happens to be one of Disney's value resorts!

Well, maybe Music would rock more than Pop Century...but check out the wall of memories and you find several music related things. Remember Simon Says the electronic game? Heck most of the electronics games on display are so basic and bulky more +compared to what kids play with now.

So we went on a package deal via Southwest Vacations (that is a whole different review...) it got us, and our luggage there and helped us enjoy a week of fun...7 nights. We also had the deluxe dining package included so that flavors some of our thoughts about the stay.

On arrival our room was ready, this was great since we arrived before lunch time. In fact we had time to take a break before heading to MGM to dine on lunch. We did first have to resolve an issue with our park tickets that was the fault of the package company, NOT a WDW issue, but the concierge we had help us got it all resolved, and in the end even put a credit on our account as a result of the changes. That was just one of the very nice interactions with the cast...usually my interactions with cast members has been positive.

The room was nice, it is about the size of a La Quinta room or a Days Inn room etc...basic sleeping arrangements. It is not a deluxe resort with lots of extras in the room, but we were there to play in the parks and rest in the room.

My daughter brought her friend...they took one double bed and my wife and I were in the other...and nobody complained that the bed was too hard or too soft. We were usually pretty tired out by bed time, or nap-time.

Each day when we came back to change, take a break, etc...the room was cleaned up nicely. If we needed extra towels they arrived in a reasonable amount of time, especially considering the resort is spread over several acres. We were in a Preferred room, a few extra bucks per day cost, and could easily get to and from the front office area and the cafe' quickly. This was nice when we went to fill our refill soda mugs that were part of our package. I think they are $12-15 each when purchased on a retail basis.

The pools were great, closed a few times when thunder was around, which is to be expected. The play areas were also very nice. Everything was clean or being cleaned.

We allowed the girls to go together from the room to various places around the resort. They had to have a cell with them so we could get hold of them, and could only travel as a pair...Generally security is pretty good there, but since they are 9 we didn't want to leave them totally to their own desires about running around.

Great place to stay, be on property and enjoy WDW.

Pop Century definitely has a motel vs hotel feel but is a great value for the money. With the costs of the parks and food, we decided to save some money on the hotel since we did not intend to spend a lot of time there. We had access to all of the more +Disney parks including Downtown Disney. No having to get in the car and drive anywhere. The kids enjoyed the bowling pin shaped pool and all of the hotel employees we had contact with were Disney style helpful and friendly.
