This is the fourth time I have been to Disney's Vero resort. I typically take my kids there for an enjoyable relaxing vacation.

However, this time I had the distinct uncomfortable feeling I was always being policed and watched- even more +more so than a typical Disney experience.
My family sat at the pool quite a bit over our stay and everywhere we looked someone was being "spoken to" by a lifeguard or castmember. Yes, it was busy and I truly understand the need for safety but there is safety and there is just being ridiculous about safety!

There is a watchtower above Eb and Flo's rentals (out by the pool) which is blacked out ( unlike all their other towers) so they can see you but you cant see them and everytime someone turned around on the slide, even by accident (which has high sides and cant be seen from below) - the lifeguard would recieve a call on their walkie-talkie and the child or adult would be whistled at and spoken to- of course with a Thank You at the end!! If a child just above the height line went on the pirate's ship to play- a castmember would immediately exit EB and Flo's and track down the offender! If someone had a drink or a bottle, the castmember would be on them quicker than a cheetah- explaining to them how they can not do that with another Thank you! They were picking people off everywhere we looked!!!

I would prefer to know for sure that I was being watched instead of hiding behind the black curtains. I felt like I was in a prison yard and about to be shot if I tried to escape! Open the curtains Disney or put up a sign that we are being watched- extremely uncomfortble to say the least and we ( my family) were being good prisoners!!!

Also, there was a fire alarm that went off during our stay and we were at the pool. They had us clear the resort by trying to escort us UNDER the hotel and into the garage instead of to the beach or the street! While everyone else obeyed and shuffled down the tunnel like a herd of cattle- I refused.. the hotel could collapse or be on fire and we could be trapped! No thank you!!! Thank goodness I date a firefighter who said to absolutely refuse to go below!

Otherwise, the rooms were nice, the front desk staff helpful and we liked that it isnt a far trip to get there.

My daughter and I stayed at Disney's Vero Beach Resort and had a great time. The pool area is great and we enjoyed being able to eat our lunch poolside. The beach is clean and you can purchase lounge chairs and umbrellas. We ate almost every meal more +at the resort. The food was good, but a little expensive. The only downfall is that there isn't a whole lot to do in the area. We did do a little shopping, and we drove into Vero for lunch a day. The resort is great and the staff is very friendly.
