Spread over 22 acres of lush, tropical gardens, DoubleTree Paradise Valley is a short, 15-minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Like all Doubletree properties, families receive warm chocolate chip cookies on arrival (a hit with the kids!). With more than 370 rooms, the hotel offers more than enough space and amenities for families. Rooms and suites are large and comfy with warm tones and plush bedding. Private balconies showcase views of the city. Video games are available upon request. Complimentary newspapers are delivered to your door. En Fuego Restaurant serves local favorites with a Southwestern flair. Children’s menus are provided. Palm Cafe is the best place to get your early morning cup of Joe.

The resort has two large outdoor pools, a nine-hole putting green and sport courts for racquetball and tennis. A health club and full-service spa is also onsite, awaiting parents who need to unwind. To help stay connected, the resort offers free Wi-Fi in all public areas. You can print off your boarding pass on the hotel’s printer, too. Nearby, families can shops at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, experience the historic Old Town Scottsdale or see a game at Arizona State University.

Unlike some places, the off-season in Paradise Valley is summertime due to the extreme heat. If you can stand it, this is when you’ll get the best rates.

4 Night Stay

by DavidB19922014

With a group...lots of check-ins on Wednesday. Assigned room was not ready, but at the check in time (4PM) I went to the desk and they gave me another room that was ready. Clerk at front desk was very courteous and offered a couple of drink tickets. Room on the first floor was very satisfactory however light fixture in shower needed attention (8133) and on one day, I had to call for room service as it was getting late and didn't want to be missed nor interrupted when attempting to get dressed for a 6 PM event. TV in room had bad reception for many times the picture was distorted and the volume muted. All events at hotel were well done! Great Location! Personnel friendly. Check out bill was wrong with a charge that was not mine. Front desk referred me to accounting as they could not handle it. Had to leave a message.
Walkway from room to lobby through patio area stone floor needs washed desperately. Plenty of free parking. Lots of traffic. Wonderful weather!!!

Some technical difficulties with the room

The property is beautiful cycling however, my sliding glass door was stuck and would not open or close and was left in the open position, the electrical outlets in the bathroom entryway and coffee area did not work. Also, there was no real hot water, only lukewarm water. I reported these problems to the checkout clerk. Overall, “unimpressed.
